There may be some confusion here since people are posting part numbers for LD9s and also Ecos. I'm not sure if the stock bolts are the same for both, but....

Just as an FYI, the bolts that Mark suggested for the Ford Pinto are NOT correct for the LD9... They are 3/16" shorter than the stock GM bolts. Stick with the ones for the Ford 4.6L/5.4L (254-2801). There are two extra bolts in the kit, but the length is exactly the same as stock.

Maybe the Pinto ones are fine for Ecos, but not right for LD9.

I was in contact with arp and gave them the measurements of the stock Eco flywheel bolts and he gave me this part # 209-2801. Ordered them and the car is back together everything worked mint.

Brandon,

I am using ARP # 254-2801 for my flywheel bolts and they work just fine. They are for a Ford Modular 4.6 & 5.4

I have to find the part numbers for the pressure plate bolts.

These are the same for the LN2 also... If you have an auto you can use the 254-2901's. I sheared all of mine while doing a highway pull. Nothing like sitting on the side of the highway for a few hours waiting on a flatbed....

Thanks!

Not true. I contacted ARP and these are the EXACT same size as the factory LD9 bolts. How did you measure your bolts?

Ummm... Okay? I don't know what to tell you. I measured them with a dial calipers. You don't need to measure them to tell that they are shorter. It's pretty damn obvious. I ordered the exact part number you posted for the pinto. Took the stock LD9 F23 flywheel bolts out and compared them. Unless GM decided to change the bolt size at some point, all I can say is what my experience was.

did some research on LD9 flywheel bolts....

LD9 Stock GM = 24mm or .944"
ARP - Ford Pinto (251-2901) = .800"
ARP - Ford Modular (254-2801) = 1.000"

all three work. ford pinto set runs around $40 shipped for a set of 6. ford modular runs around $50 shipped for a set of 8.

id rather go with the longer ones so the .066 longer than stock ARP modular kit is for me.

It's nice to be injected but I love being blown.

Good work Brad. Surprised you didn't know about the 254-2801's earlier? I've had mine for 2-3 years now. Why do I mention this? idk, I like to see if I can provoke you in any fashion, that bring me great joy.

I am so glad I found this thread. back when I built my first ld9 the flywheel bolts backed off. I limped it to my apartment and tore it down in the parkimg lot. I found the issue...i was pissed.

took it to my parents and pulled the engine. applied locktite (dont remember wat color) but was fine since then.

arp moly lube sounds good brad but I cant verify that.

GMR has got nothing on this

well see thats what i dont get... they usually recommend moly lube with their products so it gets the proper torque spec but stock bolts use locktite so thats where i am confused.

ill call ARP one of these days lol
