Stanced / Hella Flush Cavalier
Sunday, August 28, 2011 7:43 PM
I searched both terms on this site & nothing came up.
I am new to the J-Body scene, I have had all Honda's Since I could drive & 1 Ford escort. All my Honda's have been swapped & Modded to be fast sleepers.
I actually was given a 2002 Cavalier Sedan from my mom when I had to sell my last Honda project it was a fully built ls/vtec 93 Integra. I sold it because I was getting married.
I was thinking about selling it or trading for a Honda, but after looking on Club Cav & this site when I had some issues I decided to work with what I have being that some of these dudes cars are dope & clean. I am going for the clean look with a little bit of performance.
I want to slam it & stance it with a clean lip kit. I don't know anything about this car except how to do maintenance & replace parts.
I read somewhere that it has a Jdm counterpart?

Anyways what size spacers do I need or what parts are needed besides the suspension??? I want to get full coilovers if they are avasilable & 17x8 wheels or 18x7.5 nothing too crazy.
I saw a red convertible that was dope on here & a silver 4 door. Thats the look I am going for clean, I am tired of Honda's because they are not unique anymore, plus I have a B20 Integra, that my wife drives. . lol

The "JDM" counterpart is the Toyota cavalier.

There are only a handful of guys following the stance game, but it's slowly becoming more popular.

Common offset those guys work with is +35, matched up with a little spacing and you'll be good to go.

Just keep researching, there's stuff hiding somewhere.

Oh and welcome to the org.

Azncav(red vert), Airgazm(silver sedan), and Jay Van(Silver coupe) are the only ones actively "stancing" their cavaliers.

its an old concept. time for something new to take the reigns. - Z yaaaa

I was almost there, and then I popped my engine, lol

Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone bang your wife and being proud to raise their kids.

Dude, J-Bodies can be so much sicker than imports with the proper parts. A sick j-body is more rare than a hooked up import now days especially in Virginia Beach where I live.

Stanced and performance are going to opposing goals in the handling world. If you want stance listen to azncav, he knows what he''s talking about. If you want to go fast while turning, talk to me, I'll have you pulling around the 1g area on the skidpad in no time (on streets).

You can have stance and still pull 1g, you just won't be stretching and poking.

Or you could put 235 width race tires stretched over a 10" wheel and do both

Before i get rid of my j, I'm no doubt "stancing" it. I feel like it would look sexy with some poke. First I need low...

P.S. Will trade stock lift kit for B&G coilovers.

Yes, but your front suspension will be wacked kinematically, you could fix it with some custom uprights though, aka drop spindles.

I'm not running spacers on mine at the moment, so its not quite flush...you should probably pick up some wheels first and go from there...mine are 19x9.5 +35 offset....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought it was stated a while back when Chazz had them that they were 19x8.5 +35. Seems like I remember him throwing out the "9.5" after measuring from outside to outside(instead of by the measurement between the bead flanges which is what determines rim width).

I'm spaced and cambered, But I'm not quite low enough, or cambered enough to be "stanced" really. Just enough to be functional.

I don't get into ridiculous stancing though

lol maybe...but its still 9.5"s that are fitting in the wheel well, I've heard that too, but never much bothered measuring....
