I think they look really good.

If they crack they crack, if they dont they dont. I dont think they will, but if they do im sure it wouldnt happen for quite a time after its all finished. so by then, Josh will maybe have some new ideas for these tails.

dont you need to take the taillight out to change the bulb inside?

how are you going to change the taillight bulb?

you dont need to take it out, it's like the headlight bulbs, youjust take the little harness out of the light from the inside.

Dayum dude, you're actually able to change out the headlights w/o removing the housings?! When I first started doing minor upgrades to my car last summer, headlight bulbs was the first thing, and I could hardly snake around in there to get the bulbs out. I finally ended up taking the housings off (took a whole minute!!) and changed 'em that way. Now I take 'em off like nothing when I'm doing other work up there (one of my Acc grounds is a bolt under the driver H/L) I agree on the tails tho, just pull back the carpeting and change the bulb.

Quite being ignorant dude...YER @!#$ IS NOT GOING TO WORK! Yes, it may work for a year or so, then Its going to end up crackin in a couple years. Why dont u just listen to these guys who have had past experience with this Sh!t. Dont be so closed minded. They are just trying to help you not F^CK up with yer car and have to have the whole damn thing redone and painted again. Might as well do it the way you will NEVER have to worry bout fixing it. If you dont have the tools, find someone who does and pay them to make it or something....In the end, this is what you will be doing anyways. The reason there is all these a$$holes on here is because people are too close minded to accept constructive critisism from people who know MORE about a topic than another might. Just LISTEN to them and learn from them....You obviosuly dont have to do anything we suggest, but dont start SH!T with them cuz they are trying to help. All i gotta say! ohh and your lights doo look BAD @$$! Just woulda done them in metal if it were mine.

z2FST4u-

Hey im glad you know so much about cars. I have been around a body shop for the last 3 years and been working on cars since. Just let me do it how i want to and and drop it. I was just here to post pics of my car, and i wouldnt of if i knew you and the two others would just say it sucks. I have many post above saying they dont think it will crack and i dont either since my side skirts were molded the same way and its been a year and a half and there totally fine. My car is not a daily driver and its parked in the garage all year round. It only goes to shows and maybe on the weekends i drive it.

GreenFire molded his side skirts and back bumper and filled all his seams on his car like that too, they way i did it. So go cry to him too. I just want comments if you like or dont like thats it.

Like stated above,

ALL BODY SHOPS WILL DO IT DIFFERENT, there is no right way or wrong way.

Well, I would say 2 years is a long time, and he will prolly change the look 2-3 times by then as most people do on this site, so I think he did it just fine. Also, my girlfriends car has molded drift kit (fiberglass then filler over metal) and you can't break that. Not one crack in 6 months including being exposed to +30 to -30 degree celcius temperature changes. Will it crack some time, probably...but then again it will probably rust by then as well. It's his car so he can do what he wants. Bottom line. It will look just as good when painted as metal, and likely will last just as long.

Great words to live by folks! Let me remind everyone in your area to never go to this bodyshop you learn these mottos from, there is a wrong way, and you're kicking ass at it!

Joe Schultz,

Better remind everyone in his area too since he agreed with me that all body shops do different.

well from what i see is that it will work out for you...but eventually it may start to crack...i think brett is just trying to give you some heads up, and advice before you pay for a paint job then see parts crack on you.

it look's a little too thick from the pics...perhaps after you get more sanding done it will thin down.

im going to have to say something cause this is driving me crazy , when molding stuff fusor is your friend help bond everything together, you dont put filler on top of paint, and you should have taken everything down to bare metal and fiberglass and yet again fusor is your friend toddles

My suggestion to you josh it to ignore what you dont wanna hear, cuz u cant stop what people are going to say. But i think it will look good, prob wont hold as long a welding, but im sure it will hold a very long time. And yea by then im sure u'll want to do something else, cuz u changed your mind in 4 months after we did ur car...LOL

anyways.... with all the posts saying this and that, i will just put in my two cents...

things you did wrong, didnt sand down the entire area to bare metal for a good contact, and the fact that you used SO much of bondo... you need to sand almost all of it off... a little bondo will work fine, but you cant just slobbed it everywhere, there is nothing inside the bondo to make it hold anything together, atleast with bondo glass, there's fiberglass hairs in it...

anyways, i think it wiill look good, but i'd be very worried about it cracking man..

but if you have alot of time or money, no worries, just repaint it, I think everyone is trying to help you out, and you may not realize it, we've all been there with problems, and from the pics you supplied it looks like it will crack.

I hope it doesnt,

ok before you guys start conclusions again.

The paint was sanded to bare metal with 32 grit and 60 grit sand paper. i guess ill keep repeating it since people dont listen. The spots where i applied jelly fiberglass and bondo was sanded to the metal.

Coma, Fiberglass jelly is underneath that bondo all over the spots which will hold it to the metal without a problem.

So the two things you stated were both done how i should've of, so dont just come to conclusions unless you know.

Coma, fiberglass jelly which i used has the hairs already in it.

the pink bondo you used does? (thats what I was referring to..

and in your first post of the thread, state everything that has been done, nowhere did I read about the sanding of everything to bare metal...

your photo's are misleading then.

ah well trying to help... if you dont find it a help, that ignore the comments.
