well i know one of his secrets!!! lol not really a secret but from the looks of it he has the cometic Boost headgasket... hard to tell from the pix but i dont think its the n/a gasket... good choice and good luck with your goal. though im curious to if you used oil squirters for the pistons and how your accomplished that, as i would like to do that with my next build-up
COmetic HG FTW

it's an awesome gasket!!!
1st 1st gen on air.....
yes it's a cometic HG... .072.....
Driving pretty well so far just a few bugs to iron out but overall I'm pleased.
Got a few unwanted oil leaks in strange spots but nothing a little time under the car can't take care of.
I'm sure Darren will help me get some vids up soon enough....
Btw - off boost it's cleanly faster than the car was N/A. Impressive.

-Sweetness-
-Turbocharged-
Slowly but surely may some day win this race...
please show us more..........more... nice motor!
Bump for media and updates........
Maybe we will get a couple videos this weekend if we get some time.

I was planning on doing this with my LN2, but when I got it to the shop their lead engineer said it was a bad idea. Apparently they actually take them out of engines that already have them when doing performance builds. I didn't ask specifics, but I would assume the extra weight on the piston wouldn't help when it comes to having to move all that mass around (look how much work goes into knife-edging and windage control...why would you want to add weight somewhere else?) If you want to keep the heat away from the pistons, have them ceramic coated and dry film lubricated, that will work wonders. Also, I'm not sure about the QUAD blocks, but the 2.2 only has access to an oil galley under the first three cylinders, so something interesting would have to be done about the 4th...

better a delay than a disaster.
Whats happening with the beast? Can we get some more pics ...cant get enough of it
Any updates? Video?
15.3 @ 89.97mph, 14's on the way?
SweetnessGT wrote:Sorry guys but a few things came up so I'm not going up to WI this weekend sadly.
No way in hell I would have raced anyway, Jeremy... the engine isn't ready for that in the least.
Todd, are you still coming down for Lee anytime soon?
-Chris-
Actually its up not down.
I have no solid plans to travel anywhere soon.
I would like to at least check out Importfest this year if I have the cash to do so.
Summer ends in 3 days...

well actually the motor and stuff is done, so if he can pull off 500+ whp with his setup now, then technically he did have it by summer of '06, he just wasn't able to show it. haha, i'm sure he'll pull off some great #'s, so lets see.
Goal is to make my '00 auto 2.4 run a 14.6 with no internals (cams will go in), and no F/I.
500whp = easy.
changing your sig = hard
looks like he took the harder option of changing his sig.
Congratulations on accomplishing another sig change.
