It's a flap for air to be able circulate in the trunk. Car looks good, and I agree, while the car is there, shave that gas door!

Sorry its an insurance fix only and i dont want them to have to do any more work than they already are. but thanks for the comments and he is right its a flap for air circulation.

the reason for the little flap is to let air out, not so much circulate it..... when you the car is sealed up with just a door or more specifically the trunk open it would be a bitch to close becasue it would form a big air pocket in the car, when you slam the trunk closed the flap only opens outwards and it lets the air pressure out to make things close easier. unless there is more pressure or air flow dirrectly at the flap its closed.

Can't wait to see it all together and painted! Why don't you ask the body guy to shave locks and antenna. It shouldn't be to much of hassle for him. Do it!

That makes sense on the flap vent thing in the back.

After talking to ryan and hearing how much of a pain in the butt is to put the front on correctly. body guys already wont like me for that one i can tell. just to get it done wont be the problem but to get it done right is where the real problem is. But im gonna tell them to take their time regardless if its in there a month or not.

As for the handles and locks and gas door and antenna. I would really love to do all of that but this is all insurance paying for it. plus i dont have the extra cash to spend to get the door popper, power lock kit or whatever else is needed. ill just stick with good old reliable manual use haha.

As for sanding and filling, a lot of the filler is sanded off now but there were some good dings in it that i saw and like ryan said, he is suprised they sanded down to bare metal. but i guess its a body shop and i hope they know what they are doing. they are quite reputable so we will see how it goes. car should be primered today.

why are you suprised about going down to bare metal?

A little off topic here, but for all of us who love bass...ALOT, would we get bigger db readings if we sealed off those flaps just for comps and such?

Front is super simple to install. Ryan always drama queened that up, imo because he didn't want anyone else to get it. I have the kit and installed it back when it was first released.

The only issue is where the bumper meets the fender, by each headlight. Since its a cover it doesn't sit flush, it wants to sit out 1/8 to 1/4 inch. That is the ONLY part that you need to adjust if you don't like it, but thats how they designed it. Everything will line up perfectly, and bolt right up. You already have the grill work cut out of your base model front, so thats already good to go.

Your paypal finally cleared today, holy christ! I'll see about getting them out for you and 05extreme tomorrow. I thought you were @!#$ting about your car being in the garage already, looks like they're going to town on it. Good luck, your car is definetly going to be unique, dead sexy even.

Have a good one, I'll keep you posted.

That is going to look awesome, my car is in paint right now for phase 1. Phase 2 with the xtreme skirts and rear are coming up. Can't wait to see pics when it's finished, with that orange paint it's going to look badass.

Thank you! And the only reason why I thought it was an air filter (not for the engine) was because it seems like its a really fine mesh. Anyways, kinda sucks to hear that it is an insurance fix Although, atleast it will be getting fixed

insurance fixes are the best time to do your modding cause their allready paying for half the work lol i'd of asked them the price anyways. half the work is being paid for by insurance only work they would have would be the filling and welding the piece in. good shop shouldnt charge u to much for it. should look good either way though.

your right I posted pics of this @!#$ty fitment and all the cutting up and work it took to it to fit right becasue I didn't want anyone else to have a mass produced kit... that makes perfect sence.... for me just throwing parts on is not good enough, I expect things to look and fit perfect.... if htat makes me a drama queen then I guess I'm a drama queen.

Well Mr. Perfect, if you would've installed it over the right bumper, you wouldn't have had to do so much cutting. It was designed for use over the base model bumper, not the LS sport. So that was your fault.

I clearly remember you steering people away with horror stories. I always felt you exaggerated, just never said anything.

BoltZ22 wrote:^ minus the lip they're the same bumper. he had alot more issues with the front then that.

Yeah I'm aware of that, but even when you cut off the lip, I think the contour of the bumper may be slightly different where it had the lip. Which may have made it harder, idk.

Whatever, I have the kit. I've installed the kit, and I too am a perfectionist. How come I had only one small issue? I've been on this forum for a long time now and saw all his posts, from when he got it, til he sold it.

Its not near as bad as he says, JUST the little it sticks out where it meets the fenders, thats IT! But what do I know? Darkstars said it, so now its set in stone that this front doesn't fit. Its the nature of the forum flock. I was just trying to dispell the rumors. In the end it doesn't matter, think what you want. You can't get these anymore, so it doesn't matter to many people anyway. Only the few who actually have them.

Vince and 05xtreme, your kits will be taken to ABF first thing tomorrow morning 7am. As you know Vince I was waiting til your e-check cleared, 05extreme has been extremely patient. For that I thank him a lot! I had to do flooring in some offices in Harrisburg today, which is the oppisite direction of the ABF terminal in Reading. Luckily tomorrow I work in Reading, so I have it scheduled to drop off the kits at ABF before I even load up my carpets. At the latest I'd say you'll have them Monday. I will email you your ABF Pro# for tracking as soon as I return home with it. I'm actually doing all these posts from my Iphone. Something I could never do before at work, surf the internet lol. Gives me something to do while the floor leveler dries. I love it!

Thanks again Vince, can't wait to see more progress! Your baby will be there soon enough.

Oh and Box dimensions are 87x38x22, its a big one. You'll have to put the tailgate down in your S10, actually your prob better off taking everything out of the box.

Have a good one.
