So random thoughts about driving and working on the cavalier last night....

So if I leave the car in drive it shifts at 6600ish like it is programed to. If I put it in any other gear. It shifts at the stock RPM, about 6200 RPM. Also, all the trans shifting firmness seems to go back to stock. Also the shift speed goes back to stock. If I put it back in drive it shifts hard, fast, and at 6600 rpm. Traction control hates me! ~Evil Grin~

WHY IN THE HELL? I went back and looked at the trans settings. I got nothing. There are no separate settings or anything at all.

Also, installed my new head unit so I can plug my phone in and listen to pandora, or any thing else off my phone. It also sounds a lot better than my old head unit. And it lights up red, and we all know things that light up red are cool.......

Also, I finished installing my gauges. Everything is soldered and heat shrinked. I think I need to reprogram my wide band again for the narrow band output. Also, my voltage offset for my wide band is slightly off I think, but that should be an easy fix.

Anyone want to help me install my spare dash so I can get rid of my stupid ass dash cracks, and my charcoal head liner?

They are stock. I'm running rich for sure though. I'm getting about 21-22 mpg. I normally get 28-30 mpg. My Air / Fuel is also rich while cruising. I'm REALLY thinking that changing trans settings are messing with the richness of the motor. Which makes no god damn sense.

I'm planning of flashing a stock tune on, just to see what happens.

-Z Yaaaa- wrote:hidden trans settings! oh my!

I think they are just not in the hptuners files. We KNOW other files and settings are missing....so it makes sense that the auto part is missing some. I'm still going to check everything again to see if anything effects it.

So I FINALLY installed my black 96 base headliner. So my cav doesn't have a plug for the harness to the dome light? It is a four wire plug, and the one that I got with the black headliner is a two wire. Also the dome light area is different. So I did a lot of cutting with a razor and some scissors!
Stock 99 Z24

Stock base 96

Done

Also the local hardware store had the perfect texture and color plastic push pins that retain the headliner. Even the wife liked the new headliner, and asked why it took me so long to swap it. I also, deleted the map light buttons. I was lazy, and it looks cleaner anyway lol.

WAY to many parts still to install.

I guess my licence plates will be wrong soon. It is a sad and happy time all at once. I pick up my zero mile LG0 this Saturday or Sunday. Might be a while till I swap it in, but who knows....

I need to raise my trans pressure more for high RPMs, but it is getting there.

The headliner looks SO much better than the tan one. The passenger side mirror in the visor is cracked, so I'll need to swap that mirror with the one from my tan headliner sometime soon.

still dont understand how you have a manual 95 manual 2.3 intake cam tower. yet even still it has no provisions for the power steering. very odd...

unless... the manual 95's got the older style power steering? i really dont think so but at this point i cant think of anything else LOL

I need to check the head more, and double check the casting number. It is mildly ported on the exhaust side. I may look at it tonight after work if I have time.

Yeah I do. I'm a little short on funds now though. I bough the motor, and some M45 GM injectors for it.

A similar place that I found my last crate LG0 that I bought and sold. Both were from Ohio.

When I opened the bottom end my dad couldn't even believe how clean everything was.

Added: Well the first one was at a dealer in Lima Ohio. Still crated! I found it indirectly from a friend that was looking for a LD9 re-manufactured motor. I called the dealer for him. I actually posted about it in the mid east region a few years ago. They had one or two BRAND NEW LN2 motors at that time, also. I got the engine cheap and sold it for a profit to some random guy...

This one came from Detroit. Then ended up about 10 minutes from my house. I drove over with the dad picked it up, and crapped myself since it was SO DAMN clean. I figured there would be some rust on the inside. NOT A DROP.
