I have heard of that before actually.

I know the J-Body seems to be, for the most part, amune to camber changes due to suspension height.

Not sure how much benifit that would be, but it is something to look into.

With the 9 inch wide tires I think it should hook up quite nicely.

I was getting pretty conistant 1.9's last year with my cheater slicks, I'm hoping for 1.8's or even 1.7's this year on the new set-up.

You can actually see the can spin pretty good off the line in this video from last year...I was running consistant 13.9's that day as well. If you look really close you can actually see the front end slide over to the right when it takes off due to wheel spin.

Tires!

I couldn't wait so me and my buddy mounted them in his garage...lol

Tire and Rim only come in at 20lbs as well. Thats 10.5lbs lighter, per side, than my drag tires from last year, so I just got rid of 21lbs of rotational mass = 180-210lbs of static mass.....

Won't have the wheel adaptors for a couple weeks still....car is coming out of storage next weekend and making its way over to my buddies house.

Once I get everything I'll pull the car in and test fit them

Fingers crossed I don't have to grind the calipers or only have to grind them a bit.

Gotcha, forget, are you using stock brakes with these?

I see your gonna use 4 lug adapters, is that something you can just take on and off when you want to put some street 5 lug rims on?

Whitecavy - Yup stock brakes, these wheels will clear a Civic Si front brakes, which can't run anything smaller than a 14" steelie, so I have high hopes they will also clear a J-Body front brakes since we cant run anything smaller than a 14" steelie also.

I had a set of Diamond racing wheels (13x8) that my buddy ran on his cav last year, I was gonna use them till I came across these, he had to do some grinding tho to get them to fit over the brakes. So it is possible, just how much (if any) grinding I'll have to do.

The adaptors are just bolt on/off, they look like this (these aren't the exact ones tho).

Inner piece bolts to the hub, the outer piece bolts to the inner piece and the wheel bolts to the outer piece.

Sounds kinda sketchy, but the guy assures me they have run this set-up on 900hp Camaros with no issues. They also come with a lifetime unconditional warrenty and $1,000,000 liability insurance.

zyaaa - I know...tires are just under 13lbs, wheels are just over 7lbs......I am very happy!

I'm pretty confident, that from the extra traction, improved gear ratio and reduced rotational mass I could run a solid 13.5 with just changing to these tires alone over my set-up from last year.

I might actually be able to put that theory to the test if Mike can't get me my head in time to build/tune the car before my first points race on June 5th. No point tearing my car apart if I don't have all the parts to put it back together.

Negative Phil....customs is slow right now it would seem, judging on how long it took my tires to come in.

Do you have a tracking number for it?

Not really unfortunately...

Wheel adaptors SHOULD be shipping this week.

I haven't heard back from Karo so I assume my HG isn't finished yet.

Mike should be porting my head this weekend as it is finally back from the flow bench shop, the header is still being worked on I believe

Still have to order a clutch...been slacking on that tho...no real rush right now for that

I have a few misc. parts to order still...like gaskets and seals....those are all just dealer items tho

Car comes out of storage this week, my buddy needs his garage to hold a bachelor party in....not gonna tear into it till I get all my stuff in to build the motor tho

Thats about it.

Hopefully my wheel adaptors ship soon so I can test fit and see what those tires will look like on the car
