I have Darrens old 5spd isuzu trans with a flywheel sitting next to my garage - it could use a wire wheel from sitting out a bit but It was perfect internally.

David - the 13th is looking a lot more promising.

So, looking for more ideas. Im trying to save Chris and Darren a trip down here if I can figure it out myself.

I recently just switched out the key and ignition tumbler to another 2001 z one. Still no start on the car.

Its cranking, just not starting. I smelled the spark plugs and they do not smell of fuel which leaves me to believe the injectors are not firing. I need to find out why.

Turn key to on position for an hour. Turn off, then try to start.

im sure you've checked but is the neutral safety switch working properly?

Well i only know its working because its allowing me to crank the car when the pedal is pressed. Now does it have anything to do with allowing the car to turn over? I do not know. I could always go buy one at Napa for like 10 bucks to rule it out. I have no clue why this is happening. It does not matter which pcm I use either, the 2001 5spd or the 2000 hptuned auto. Same symptoms.

If the neutral safety switch isn't working the car wouldn't turn over.

I swapped out a bad 2.4 for a guy and forgot to plug in the knock sensor I think it was. The car would turn over and over and would not start.

Oddly enough when I swapped my eco in I also had the same issue and no reason for it that I can figure out. Then after hours of trying to start it....it ran.

But I would go through and make sure evry plug and sensor are plugged in.

Ok, well ill grab a new safety switch from Napa then, its cheap enough that I do not mind trying it.

I am running a 140mph cluster, I guess I could try a stock cluster. My friend Trey who I got it from said he had no issues swapping out the stock one for this 140 one at all.

Knock sensor is bolted in
Crank sensor is plugged in
ICM wires are plugged in
injector clips are snapped down
verified all fuses and relays are good
Both fuel pumps are priming
Im getting 55 psi at the rail

Have you tried a noid light to see if the injectors are working?

Have you checked the wiring to the PCM? I know mine had some corroded wires there that caused a no start.

I can tell you first hand knock sensor being unplugged has no effect on injectors firing. I've have mine unplugged since I did my five speed swap

^^Like I said I think.....It was ages ago and raining...I hooked it up and it ran first try........whatever it was

Moral of the story was to make sure everything was hooked up.

Can run without knock sensor, but will not run with the crank sensor not plugged in. But that would cut the fuel pump, he is getting fuel pressure, so that's not the issue.

I bet the injectors are not getting a signal at all. Check the ground for the injectors.

So like Darren said, are the injector grounds at the PCM?

Check the injector grounds, David... also... is this a KNOWN good working PCM you're swapping in? I only ask because I question whether the injector drivers are good/firing...

It *may* be the PCM itself.

Depending on the numbers on the PCM I may have one. I have like three for my car

Actually he said there is no change between the auto and manual ecu. Which would throw ecu being bad out
