love the custom chassis braces and suspension pieces! That Subframe K-brace makes my original K-braces look crap! What color are they powdercoated/painted?

Safety orange. The car has 250 miles on it and it all the sudden does not start. I tore the whole engine harness out. I am thinking since its a 2001 and a 96 interior harness that the BCM is looking for a signal.

Anyone know by chance if this is true?

Yup, thats it Mark.

The whole reason i ripped my 97 interior harness out since im doing a 2k swap. All that research has told me that the 2k harness needs a bcm.

Thing is he is running a 2001 harness, but the ECU OS is 99, so the ECU is not looking for a BCM. Also keep in mind the car ran great for weeks and allowed 250 miles to be on it. If it was looking for a BCM it would have never ran.

I think it is a harness/wiring issue. He has found some wiring issues in this harness already.

Yep a few. There are a couple of small changes we are going to make.

John, it all makes sense to me for it not to be the BCM. The only thing is someone told me that the BCM randomly looks for a signal. I am getting absolutly no spark. I have checked everything from the fuses to the grounds on the block, all looks good.

Anything else I can check for a no spark condition?

Something basic maybe?

The thing is the BCM is pointless if the OS is a non bcm OS.

Also the BCM controls gauge functions etc.. This is why people are able to flash the GM M45 reflash to 99 cars and the car works, but looses gauge functions.

Its a manifold with the correct adapter. Everything else just plugs in. I had to machine the TB where the IACV sits, but that took 30 min.

Well still no spark on the reaper. Replaced the MSD coil pack and checked and cleaned up the wiring harness.

What will cause a no spark issue? I replaced the coil, plugs, ICM, looked at harness and changed out the computer.

Am I missing anything?

^^ that. try doing a crank sensor relearn?

I choose the technology built for land speed records... not the technology built to save on emissions and gas mileage.

Crank sensor?I remember reading a story where someone was having a similar issue. I think one of the pins in the plug for the sensor popped loose and wasn't making g a connection even though it appeared it was plugged in.

Have you unplugged the battery and let it sit for a day or two? Mine did the same thing. After sitting dead for a week I headed out and decided to try to get it running again and bam it started. I also found out I had a messed up coils.

Is the ICM and crank sensor getting a good ground? Since they share grounds.....also shared with the ABS module. Ask me how I know.....

Guys, I checked everything. I tore the whole harness out of the car. From the get go I think I "skipped" over the problem. When I was checking to make sure the wiring was good from the MSD to the ICM I was getting continuity from one pin on the ICM side to 2 pins on the MSD side. It totally slipped my mind. So last night I took that little harness out and found the wires melted together.

I cut the old wire out and am going to resolder it back together. I think that was the problem. Probably why the car was running like @!#$ the last few miles. So make sure you keep all the wires away from the header. Even with my high temp 2500 degree sleeving the wires still melted, probably not as fast but still melted.

Its was deffinitly causing a problem thats for sure. I am thinking that it might have blown a fuse, so that will be the next place to look if it does not start right away.

I remember I soldered in a 2 wire AEM iat sensor, drove the car for about 2 weeks then it started to run like crap. I couldnt figure out why it was chugging and jerking, well the damn soldered wires were touching eachother throwing off the IAT. Something as simple as that kept the car from running right.
