I did think about those wheels and they are pretty BA. But, I won't pay more for wheels and tires than I did for the car. This is still a fun/budget project. I'm only into the new wheels for a total of $225. They give me the look I want and drivability while being able to get low.

And...

Not much love for my tiny car here but an update anyways.

Did a relatively quick (3 hours per wheel) polishing job on the lips. They are pretty pitted since they were made in 1982 but they look a lot better.

I brought the back down another 5/8" so it was level with the front and wanted to see if I could bring the front down anymore.

This answered my question.

Probably not.

It's already been a few weeks with it that low in the front and I actually haven't scraped much at all. That's why I decided to check it out and see how much lower I could go.

It wasn't much of a pita at all. I have pretty long arms so I just layed down and reached under there and propped it up.

Thanks!

Well, that didn't last long. Pulled into a car wash I've been to many times before and apparently they changed something with the grating. Nailed the mount, in the above pic, into grating at about 5 mph and came to a dead stop. Ripped the rubber in the mount In half and destroyed a mounting bolt. Limped it home and need to get under it tomorrow to see what I can do.

The price of being low I guess.

Found a car that makes mine look huge and I had to stop for a pic.

I thought the same thing.

It does appear to be leaning. I noticed it a few weeks ago and measuered the height of each front fender to make sure it wasn't the suspension. Both fenders are at the same height so I think the problem is with the front bumper and I haven't looked into it anymore.

yeah it does look like the bumper. notice the gap under the headlights. none on passenger side.

Well, I don't post here much anymore but thought I would update this for fun and since I just got done with all the winter work and took it out for the first time tonight.

Things done since last fall:

Removed old windshield
Fixed some minor rust on the windshield frame
Installed new windshield and gasket
New brake shoes and hardware
New rear brake cylinders
New brake calipers
New master cylinder
New spark plugs
New spark plug wires
New distributor cap
New rotor
Removed A/C

And the part that most will probably not like, refinished the 13's. One cell phone pic now hoping to get some proper pics soon.

The color of the wheels is actually a bright red. I'm getting married in July and one of the wedding colors is red and the fiance suggested this. She has red shoes and the guys will be wearing red somewhere and we'll be taking some pics with the car and she wanted us to all match. I was very hesitant but love the way it turned out! The car runs like a champ now, I don't have to downshift to go up a small hill!

Thanks for looking!
