Here's an unofficial update.
HPTuners and Superchips were both bought by MSD.
HP will be only software from now on, Superchips will handle the hardware, and MSD will provide the tech support.
This is good because it will free up time at HP to develop the promised product, instead of spending time answering phone questions.
Version 2.0, which was promised to support the 4cyls, will be on sale very shortly, if not already out.
But there is no 4cyl support. Keith told me that the 1st one supported will probably be Cobalt SS in maybe a month, with others to follow as demand presents itself.
Right now though they are really focusing on the new GM V8s (LS2).

this sucks, there IS demand, just look at the JBO, how many boosted guys are complaining about tuning, or waiting for the software to come out before they go boost ?

Besides the Cobalt SS is so new, it seems retarded to only support that engine. Much more people have the other J engines and are waiting for this software to come out.

Who do I need to bug to get this thing rolling faster? email address? phone number? If they start getting calls and emails from a bunch of different poeple that might help.

That would be rude. Im friends with one of the people that work there. he works on the program actually. Bugging them would only make it worse. You guys have to realize, you cant simply write a tuning program over night, it takes a lot of time to create from scratch. give them time. be patient. ive been in contact with him about it and they are working on it. would you want to buy a program with bugs in it? i wouldnt.

well they said they were gonna get something out for j-bodies. they need to follow through with that.

I agree...

It's the same theory as pissing off the guy who is taking your order at McDonalds...you don't want little suprises when you get the product.

Seriously guys, there is no need to bump this topic, when there is news of an update, I'm sure they will post. Bumping this will just continue the "are we there yet" curiousity of the JBO members and cause pointless discussion. Either you wait or don't want and move onto another way to fix your problem or tuner needs.

That's all I really have to say...

Sorry if I'm severly out of the loop, I am still curious as to if there WILL EVER be anything for the OBDI community??

Personally, I don't have boost, I just want, no, need more power, so I can teach those damn Hondas a leson at the track! I'm sick of VTEC this, and VTEC that. I want to shut them up once and for all.

Ok I'll wait pateintly. I just wanted to make sure they know there is a demand for software for our cars (well the eco's atleast).

As long as their working on it, I'm happy.

This place is just stringing us along by our short hairs......... they've been saying the same thing since the beginning of this...... Now their going to skip over us, and start on the Cobalt SS...... thats the biggest BS I've seen. How many Cobalt SS's are out there? How many are owned by people that are even modding them?

The market for the J-bodies is here, as shown by this post, posts on their web site, all the boosted and modified J's out there....... Why are they blind to us? I can not find the words to express how pissed off I am about this crap.
