Here we have edited fuel maps, and thus leaned out AFR to 12.5, running High Octane Advance, no Knock Retard. 93 octane.

I cant say if Ive gained any power, but I think before I go much more further pushing timing I want to have it dynod and compare, have someone who knows more about it push it further. But for me as a beginner editing the VE tables was pretty self explanatory, just a lot of logging and making small corrections. I still need to edit the Low RPM tables, but as you can see after 3800 AFR stays pretty constant.

Just a small clarificaiton on the PE Delay RPM

What this value means is that the PCM will start a delay timer before entering PE mode if you are below this RPM. These delay timer parameters are not visible in the editor, but the important thing is that by setting this RPM very low the PCM will enter PE as soon as you meet the TPS thresholds.

are you running premium gas or still on regular? that timing advance seems low... I have more than that at 7K on 15 psi of boost on 9.5:1 compression with 93 octane. something near 20 degrees i think but its been a while since I've logged. Granted its an entirely different motor but the advance still seems low if you're running 93.

Eat one less time at a fast food restraunt, then you have enough money to run premium. Its not all that different in price.

I drive 1000 miles a week, and I have a part time job. The difference in the prices from regular to premium is just under $5 a week. Im not saying its not different for you, it greatly depends on how you drive and what kind of gas milage you are seeing. But good luck on tuning the stock eco, I want to do the same thing. Well as soon as I get a lap top and the software.

Why dont you also make a gas milage tune, lean it out at idle and crusing rpms and also advance the timing a little bit. And do not allow it to go into pe mode ever.

Sounds like his stock tune, lol.

Why can't you just set up a tune to make power when you're trying to make power, and get good fuel economy when you're not? You shouldn't need a seperate tune for daily driving, that's what this software is all about.

Also, could Chris or someone else clarify exactly what this PE delay does? What kind of delay are we looking at after reaching the the threshold RPM? Assuming at 6200RPM on a stock eco tune all other conditions for PE have been met, would the car even enter PE mode before the rev limiter?

if you do the math, premium instead of regular only adds up to a $100-200 difference per YEAR if you only fill up once a week. That was ONE paycheck for me back when I was making $6.25 an hour working at spencer giftsfor like, 20/30 hours a week

negligible price difference... usually premium is around 15-20 cents more, which on a 14 gallon tank is about 2-3 dollars per fill up... you can find that difference looking through coin return slots on payphones and concession machines

If CnFX was still open I'm sure me and PJ would have taken the trip out there to dyno by now, but we need to find a new (hopefully closer) dyno location that doesn't want ridiculous amounts of money. Beyond that I'm not really sure if his numbers would increase that much with just the timing advance, although I WOULD like to see the curve now that he can rev it out higher.

I may have found a place to dyno the car.. all I know is that even with the stock manifold and cat the car feels faster
than ever.
The higher rev limit, and copying my HO PE table to my LO PE table made a slight, but definetly noticable difference.
I would have advanced my timing further already if it wasn't for the god damn rain we've been having since HPT
came in the mail... (go figure)

I have to redo my exhaust with the ebay knock off of the RK Sport 4-2-1 header, remove my cat, and remove the icky
dual exhaust and hopefully mess with the settings a bit more as far as spark advance goes.

Look for track times VERY SOON dyno numbers may come, thats still up in the air

But I have a strong feeling in non-optimal conditions I'm into consistent 14.9s (my times in my registry were ran
when it was cool out). When cool weather comes back around expect to see me runing LZM triflow cams,
patriot stage 2 head, and a bored throttle body. I may install LSD, but i'm kind of sweating the quiaffe unit which means
it would take a while (unless engineered decides to get back to me about the clutch style LSD).

The overall goal for me is boost, but expect me to shatter some n/a ecotec records before I leave the category.

damn even if all this talk is about n/a eco, that PE delay thingie might convince me to swap my gm reflashed ecu to a HPT tuned stock one

well with an intake, fidanza flywheel and cat back (like it means anything) i put down 142whp and 145wtq
on a dynojet

if I could dyno on the same dynojet again, with the 4-2-1 header, 3" catless exhaust (which is being
installed for the day I go turbo but using it n/a for now) I'm looking to pick up at least another 10-20whp
with the new exhaust in combination with HPT tuning. that would put me to around 160whp..

With the patriot stage 2 head, and LZM triflow cams, add another 15-20 on top of that. now this is all
optimistic, and I hate guessing But i would say after the exhaust is installed, patriot stage 2, cams, and more
HPT tuning with ignition and fuel, I bet i could put down around 180whp if not damn close.

Realisitically, the car will be anywhere from 160whp-170whp or so... hoping for more but only time will tell.

plus, I'm more interested in e/t and trap speed really. But everyone knows my car is light... so every HP I make
goes to better use.. I'd anticipate my times dropping by quite a bit.

dunno bout tuning ur car, i don't want the responsibility of blowing up someone elses stuff if i make a mistake..
besides I have to keep a few of my secrets =P

Did I miss something, or did you just off a BJ to get your car tuned?
