This might be wishful thinking, but why don't they take the new 2.4 and supercharge that. Make that the SS. It should definately compete with the SRT-4.
actually, there will be 3 different engines offered with the cobalt. the 2.2L, 2.4L, and 2.0L supercharged. just check gm's site for more information.

I agree that gm should go with a turbo. However I did read where they are testing this platform with engines up to 300 horse power! Also read that they are trying for 180 horse power from the 2.4 eco. Hopefully they will listen to the enthusiasts and get this car right!!!
2.4 with 170?? i like!! i might just think about that...or just GM supercharge my car...hmm...decisions, decisions... <br>
