why? it's still for time.....i do neither...so i dont care one way or another...but in each...it's still basically a race, is it not?

Because, unlike drag racing, EVERY autocross track is different. It's not like 1/8th or 1/4th mile straight from start to finish.
Saying it's the same would be like saying Nextel cup races at an oval track and a road course are the same.

There'd be no need to separate these two, as they're basically the same thing.
At least Nitro mentioned the 2.0 turbo!
I think I would be good on that one......

"*PROCRASTINATION* Hard work often pays off in the long run, but laziness always pays off now"
the reason i like this idea is it gets people motivated to make thier cars faster!
lets say you are close to being fast enough to be on the list or want to move up on the list it can motivate a person to do more, and compete for rank.
there would be no point in going past top 5
also would we want to do 1st gen, second gen, 3rd gen or different motors?
FI vs n/a i guess this is all stuff we'll need to figure out before this could work.
i agree
2.2 ohv and 2200 should not be separated.
i see the 2.3 and 2.4 ld9 as essentially the same as well.
I would not separate the diffrent ecos
And snuggles, I had you in mind when I wrote my previous post, lol. That's a badass car. If I would have known Ned was selling it, you would have had competition.
I realize that. I wasn't thinking along the lines of posting times, I was thinking more season championships and the like. I think its a HUGE deal when a Cav beats out a bunch of all-wheel-drive turbo'ed cars.
The problem with this is how do you divide everyone, as well as the controversy that ensues...
What will end up happening is the Rick King syndrome, everyone will feel like there are stipulations or different categories to put people in (i.e. fastest streetable, full interiored, green cavalier running on stock tires, but no supercharger or turbo). People will complian and start fights, etc. Now you may be saying that there should only be a few people to determine the categories and that everyone else will accept that. Of course, that was the same rationale behind the method for determining COTM and well, you see where that is now...
Nah, you don't have to get that into it, hell, you don't even need to make classes at all if you don't want to. Just post the top 25 or something. After the top 25, it starts to get boring anyway.
