About This Vehicle:

A clean 89,000 mile original survivor from central Illinois. Car sat from 1974-2010 and was brought back to life in the Scott family garage over a year. Still sports the original engine & trans and will never be cut up and modified in any way. "Oscar" is a well-oiled old Chevy that still puts smiles on everyone's faces the same as he did back in 1947.

MODIFICATIONS

Engine:
  • 216 Stovebolt Six with fresh valves and headwork. Rebuilt Carter W-1 carburetor and electrical system. Brought back to life carefully after a 36-year nap with a lot of penetrating oil
  • Napa parts and hard work. 2
  • 000 miles since then...we're still running strong.
Suspension/Wheels/Brakes:
  • 16 x 6.00 bias-ply blackwall tires on original 6-lug steelies. Original Firestone Gum-Dipped blackwall spare tire still in the trunk.
Interior:
  • Original "Fleetweave" interior with NOS plaid rattan seat covers installed in summer 2011.
Exterior:
  • Original Mayland Black Dupont nitrocellulose lacquer finish with a cut & buff in 2012. Still shines up pretty good.
Audio:
  • Original tube AM radio (not functional currently)
