I could, he is usually at the store but they all act like high and mighty @!#$s so I'm not bothering to try and work for them anymore. Its a shame too because their installers do decent work and they are a nice shop

Thats crazy.. They need a quality shop out here ... There are two shops but one uses half ass equipment and the other place is not worth the money fir there work

The thing is, with stuff like enclosures, I still use my guy down south. His work is beter and his prices are better than stereo west(the shop in question). I did a big install in a tahoe that was simply a single 18" fi q. I had them build a box to fit snug between his wheel wells, just a carpeted rectangular box with a slot port and a sub cutout. It was sub-up, port-back. No bracing or double baffle(which really surprised me as much as they were hyped). They charged the poor kid 500 plus tax. Absolute bull@!#$.

^^^Thats @!#$ty. Ive done more than that for less. Hence why I taught MYSELF how to do this stuff instead of hoping some jackass at a shop knows how to do it right while I get charged a ton for it.

Re: System

Like I said in the PM's, I have a guy that will do an absolutely awesome, show quality box for great prices man. Once you figure out your sub and order it, we will get in touch with him.

What head units do u guys like for sq and features... Alpine pioneer kenwood...
Re: System

I'm going to cover 'realistic' decks, since you're probably not looking to drop a G on a deck. (I could be wrong)

Alpine CDA-9887

Good
-3-way Active
-Built in imprint (auto time alignment, eq)
-Capable of almost all addons (bluetooth, sat radio, etc) with extra alpine modules
Bad
-No bluetooth built in
-Need to buy a kit to use the imprint
-High price
-Only 7 band eq (but also has parametric)

Pioneer PRS-880

Good
Big EQ (24 band I think)
3-way Active
Auto EQ, Auto TA
Sat radio add on modules
Bad
No bluetooth module that I know of (or low compatibility)
Not my style, silver. Boo.

Then of course there is Nakamichi and Macintosh. But they're strictly sound quality with not much for features and they're ugly as sin

Would like to spend like 500 or so somewhere. In that ball park
Re: System
Saturday, October 09, 2010 10:38 PM
Which features are you looking for?

Re: System
Saturday, October 09, 2010 10:43 PM
Good sq. Play cd/mp3's . 3 sets of rca outs (to hook up amp an subs) and a usb or a place to hook up my ipod... I like a deck from pioneer and one from alpine.. Both have a 2 or 3 inch display on em..
Re: System

I'm biased to Alpine, but still it sounds like the 9887 is exactly what you want.

Re: System
Saturday, October 09, 2010 10:56 PM
left out if possible would like the bluetooth also
Re: System
Saturday, October 09, 2010 11:02 PM
A lot of decks with built in bluetooth really suck. Pioneer is better these days. For that alpine deck the KCE-400BT has impressed me as well. It's actually built by parrot, not alpine. The parrot technology really shines.

Re: System

alpine wise i was looking at the ALPINE IDA-X305S

and pioneer i been looking at the
PIONEER DEH-P9800BT

pioneer mvh-p8200bt

and the pioneer deh-p717

any thoughts on any of those?

Re: System
Saturday, October 09, 2010 11:26 PM
and i just lookedd at the Parrot RKi8400 looks kool
Re: System
Saturday, October 09, 2010 11:35 PM
Keep in mind the Alpine IDA decks don't have CD players at all. They're strictly for MP3 media formats with good iPod controls. The only way to do CDs with them is with Alpine's external CD changers.

Re: System

Re: System
Sunday, October 10, 2010 12:34 AM
