For the ones talking about the turbo, here is a couple of things to consider :

- I changed from internal wastegate to an external one for 2 reasons : Better boost control (more problems on unstable boost level and boost creep with internal wastegate) and to be able to use my AEM EMS to control everything (If there is a problem like knock ... the AEM can automatically reduce boost level to prevent damage.

-Turbo, this turbo is small, but has anyone stopped to look at the numbers ?

Here are flow numbers for several turbos, the ones in bold are the ones we should look at :

T3 60 trim 400 CFM at 14.7 PSI
IHI VF 23/24 423 CFM at 14.7 PSI
STOCK HYBRID 430 CFM at 14.7 PSI
IHI VF-22 435 CFM at 14.7 PSI
SR 30 435 CFM at 14.7 PSI
T04E 40 trim 460 CFM at 14.7 PSI
Small 16G 505 CFM at 14.7 PSI
Large 16G 550 CFM at 14.7 PSI
SR 40 595 CFM at 14.7 PSI
18G 600 CFM at 14.7 PSI
PE 1820 630 CFM at 14.7 PSI
20G 650 CFM at 14.7 PSI
SR 50 710 CFM at 14.7 PSI
GT-30 725 CFM at 14.7 PSI
60-1 725 CFM at 14.7 PSI
GT-35R 820 CFM at 14.7 PSI
T72 920 CFM at 14.7 PSI

IHI VF 23/24 388 CFM at 18 PSI
T3 60 trim 410 CFM at 20 PSI
IHI VF-22 460 CFM at 18.0 PSI
AVO 320HP 465 CFM at 17.5 PSI
T04E 40 trim 465 CFM at 22 PSI
SR 30 490 CFM at 22 PSI
Small 16G 490 CFM at 22 PSI
Large 16G 520 CFM at 22 PSI
AVO 400HP 580 CFM at 17.5 PSI
PE 1820 600 CFM at 22 PSI
AVO 450HP 650 CFM at 20.0 PSI
SR 40 650 CFM at 22 PSI
20G 695 CFM at 20.0 PSI
AVO 500HP 725 CFM at 23.0 PSI
SR 50 770 CFM at 22 PSI
GT-30 790 CFM at 22 PSI
60-1 800 CFM at 22 PSI
GT-35R 880 CFM at 22 PSI
T72 1000 CFM at 22 PSI

By looking at the numbers above, just when considering air flow, the 16G large is above a 40trim T04e housing. Also count in the fact that the 16G EVO3 has a better air flow than a big 16G (its supposed to be a little less than a 20G turbo). The evo3 turbo is the turbo mitsubishi uses on the Mitsu EVO Tommy M. edition.

By examples of peoples using this turbo, well one of my friend has a small 16g on a not so tuned, niether efficient set-up on his 323GTX 1.6L engine, he dynoed a 367whp at 22psi.

The 500 hp number I posted is a goal that I would LIKE to reach, not a goal that I WANT to reach. If I don't get this number, I don't really care, my car is gonna be running at 16-17 psi all the time, I don't drag very often anyway.

Anyway, my 2 cents about my turbo.

I agree that the 2.4 would be cheaper and easier to get some power out of, but looking under the hood of ya'lls cars is just amazing. *tips hat*
There is just something sexy about 250 out of a 2.2
I can't imagine that much pull out of that motor. just makes it that much more bad ass.

Well, here are pictures of the intercooler(BELL core with spearco end tanks) :

Clutch stage 3 clutch :

B&M short shifter :

Foose wheels speedsters :

Quaife LSD :

For the updates in term of time, the car will be ready in a couple of weeks, there are just a couple of things left to do : get all the parts polished (intercooler piping, brackets, ...) some powder coating, get the aircraft grade ceramic coating on the exhaust manifold, adapt the AEM EMS to the wire harness and that is about it.

Exhaust is 3" stainless with 2 flowmaster exhaust with a race cat (250 cell).

There are a couple of parts I am waiting for : Radiator core (2 1/2" thick) and the baer big brake kit from Jim at Gravana (13" front and 12" rear).

Can't wait for it to be ready.

Ya, looks real nice.

Im curious about the clutch too. Since my 6 puck Clutchnet suxed, and is back with them now. Im hoping they figure something out soon, or I will attempt to get my money back and get the Bully like I should have done to start.

Keep up the good work and us updated.

hi Luc, I live close to htturbotech racing, might drop by and have a look at your car when it's ready. Any idea when your project will be completed ? it seems like you've started it years ago.

whats the part number on that aem ems?
Re: Engine project : 2004-2005 !

The AEM EMS is not my for my car, there are no models made to fit a j-body. This one is for a Honda accord/civic/... and the memory has been cleared and all the sensors input have been adjusted to fit the sensors on j-body and the wiring harness has been modified to fit the plug on the AEM.
