New ring set has been ordered.
All parts including a bare 2.4L block will be dropped off early next week for Dead Hook Tuning/Moran Motorsport to work their magic and create a new short block.
Block will head to machine shop. Pistons will head to Swain Tech for proper coating.
I will finally be able to put Skilz10179's old parts to good use.

Picked up a 135K mile 2000 LD9 Sunday morning via Craigslist. Lost compression on a cylinder 3 (i believe). Pulled most of it apart throughout the day.

Attempted to drive the car around Sunday. Almost instant flashing CEL and wouldn't drive very well. Going to pull cyl 4 plug again and see if it got smashed right away. I have pretty much decided it's time to stop driving it and start yanking parts.

That is correct. My stock engine for all the good sensors and clean parts. The Craigslist engine for the bottom end machine work. Then Skilz old engine for reference and the crankshaft/rods/pistons/oil pump parts.

It was always damaged from dropping a valve into cylinder 3. I don't wanna sleeve it. I was given the block when I purchased the internals from it.

Love to see the quick progress man! When I popped my last motor, I definitely needed to take a breather for a coupe of weeks til I didn't feel like lighting my car on fire anymore, lol, glad to see you just jumped right on it and keep chugging along!

I think I hit my breaking point after I saw the mess I was creating for myself in the garage. Took a step back for the night and relaxed. Hoping I don't fully break soon. I need to enjoy this and not feel it's a necessity
