yeah, like jay said, so far nothing new. hopefully i'll get enough money together to get some drag radials sometime soon.
and the coilovers definately need to be messed with a little bit more,
but other than that i'll do anything to stay ahead of my boyfriend (the flying squirrel)
we recently found out that are cars are going to be VERY close since he did his eco swap.
...eep!
I like this kind of competition
ur so goin down lol
YOU'RE ALL GOING DOWN
>=D
damn this thread is old...
peej you will never beat me
yeah, this thread is old. but thats okay.
I must be doing something wrong. With my mods(air intake, catback, short throw) the best time I can hit is 15.7 @ 84MPH. Will Headers, high-flow cat, and motor mounts really make that big of a difference?
I know this is old, but I just joined so w/e.
I will race ya
Were ARE comming out there this year, ATCO Dragway
Be ready, i smell 13SECNA, ill have a new licence plate ready

from the trap speed, i'd say you're either shifting too early (redline that sonofabitch), or you're at a pretty high altitude... We race at about 80 feet above sea level, the higher from sea level you get the worse the performance is because the air is less dense. If you're redlining every shift, and getting a decent launch but still coming up with 84mph, i'd say you're well over 2000 feet about sea level.

I usually shift around 5500 RPM mostly because I heard that that was the most optimal time to shift. Next time I go to the track I will try redlining it. Hopefully I'll come back with some better numbers.
Also, I am around 400 ft. above sea level.

you heard that from morons, or musclecar guys who have engines that top out at 4500 rpm... redline it...

wow, you heard 5500 rpm?thats idiodic, the ecotec engine doesnt even top out in hp until 5600 rpm. this is where the debate begins about how high above that to shift to come into the optimal power range in the next gear. its all about average sustained hp.
it's all about..shifting at redline.
I usually hang around people who don't know their butt from a hole in the ground when it comes to racing but it sounded good when I heard it.
Quote:
1.Run a pass at 11.99 seconds
2. Run a pass with a top end speed exceeding 115MPH

and hit between 350-400whp.
