quick question. im going to the track the 5th of march and was wondering if i should put my stock steelies back on when i go. i have 215/45/17's that weigh approx 20 ibs a rim maybe more maybe less. i know rotating wheel mass is important so should i leave them on and see what i run and if not try the stock steelies. also im curious as to what i should expect to run around i have an 05 base cavy with intake cat back exhaust thats 2 1/4 inch piping a b & m shifter and i will be taking out the spare tire and jack and i weigh 235 thanks any info is helpful

i would say it depends on what kind of driver you are.....you'll probably be in the mid to low 15's pending your a decent driver w/ a decent 60' time.....me on the other hand suck the fattest one when it comes to driving stick and i need more practice so yeah.

lol i think im a good driver on the street as for the track ive never been and from what i hear there totally different. do you know what tire pressure i should use? im going to get a nx kit and run bracket racing for the 14.40's class ill prob use a 75 wet shot since most people in bracket racing sandbag anyway. sorry if im thread jacking i am just trying to see ballpark where it would be so i dont get my hopes up thinking im going to run something lower than i actually will and be disappointed thanks

Hey I was just looking at something on the sticky for the times and if you notice I have the highest 1/4 mile trap speed out of any of the N/A Ecotecs. Hmmm???? I NEED to hook up better when I launch and I'll be #1 . Lamb, I know I said I may not run this year but upon this discovery I think I will.

I have no idea about N2O but i know when SlowWhiteFire ran his, he had his tires at 24psi so I would say around there would be fine....but id wait till someone who has actually ran at the track to answer...

anything between 22-26 psi in the fronts i would say, depending on how cold it is.

jackalope, i've trapped at 91 and 92 MPH before, i just look and saw i didn't put them in my registry, but my 14.9 (at 90) my 60 was a low 2.1, so who knows.

so its all up in the air. i just realized today next friday is the day i'm going. i'm getting pretty antsy now. =X

14.83 bitches

so i had my good friend jay's (scarab) drag radials on my car tonight.

if it wasn't 30 degrees outside i probably could've run a 14.7 at least. i'm almost positive if i was on regular tires i probably wouldn't have broke 15s at all tonight. i was cutting 2.1s on the drag radials, so yeah that pretty much speaks for itself.

but heres the full slip:

r/t .642
60' 2.151
330 6.167
1/8 9.488
MPH 74.00
1000 12.368
1/4 14.837
MPH 90.74

so yeah not bad, but if i had gotten better launches it would've been more impressive, but it puts me back at the number 2 spot.. HAHA JACKALOPE. <3

and me and pj (daflyinskwirl) had 2 deathmatches, we were almost completely tied the whole way, the first time he beat me by .03 or something like that and the second time i beat him by .04

his car weighs probably 100 pounds less than mine now, and otherwise our mods kind of equal eachother out. me-header him-lightened flywheel.

so all in all a good night, i'll be going back when its a little bit warmer, maybe like at least high 40s low 50s..the 30 degree stuff just isn't working out.

oh..slowwhitefire..how the hell did you screw that up? haha.

goddamn it seems so easy for you guys to run 14s . Funny that it took like 3 years until we finally got some lightly modded ecos in the 14s and now they're a dime a dozen.

Anyway keep representing ! I figure you get quite a bit of respect at the tracks you go to from people who never thought a jbody could see 14s.
