damn, PA is a long ass drive from IA lol.
i think right now, the front runners are YJ Wrangler, Tahoe, and Cherokee. I need Jooky to chime in and tell what the reliability of Tracker/Sidekick drivetrain is like.

G/F's dad has a newer Chevy Tracker. They don't like it. Too light to be useful in the snow. Too small, just ok gas mileage.
What about a Ford Exploder? Or a Grand Cherokee? Friends have one, they like them alot.
O noes!
get a nice 97 (no later or earlier) blazer, i have a 97 and the @!#$ only got stuck once because the snow was up to the grill, but they sit kinda low, i love my blazer tho =) or a tahoe,
i highly doubt a 97 blazer is better than a 98 or 96.
anybody else have an opinion? i'm thinking tahoe or yj, but definitely considering trackers as well.

Why get a yj, when you already have a cj? Both are small, get terrible gas mileage, and can't tow anything.... Get something like the tahoe or a full size so you have something with room and can at least tow something. A cherokee wouldn't be bad either, same drive train as the wrangler but not as scary towing stuff.
If you do get a wrangler make sure it's a 4.0. I think they started in 89/90. I had an 87 wrangler with the 258.
what? a man can't have 2 jeeps?
lol, seriously i'm not worried about any of that stuff. most of the SUVs i'm considering aren't terribly big, which doesn't bother me. i don't expect to get great MPG's (unless i go with a tracker) and i don't have a need to tow anything ever.
