Out with the J, in with the Focus
Sunday, August 22, 2010 8:25 PM
So since I start school, and despite the new cat, O2 sensors, headgasket, etc, the cavalier was still giving CEL and all kinds of issues (low oil pressure) we decided it was time to retire it. So went to the Ford dealership and picked up a new 2011 Ford Focus SES. Picked it up on friday with 8 miles, already have 360 miles on it. Love this car. Gonna miss the Cav a bit though.

Anyway, here is pics!

By the way, for those of you who don't already know, it comes with a 2.0L DOHC, 16V I-4. It normally produces 140HP/136tq but the PZEV version (Such as mine) makes 132HP and 134tq. It also comes with a 4-speed transmission, and mine comes with SYNC (awesome). Tires are 215/45/17 Kumho Solus KH-16

You may hate keeping those tan seats clean. Mine are never clean.

Great color!

Also love the wheels, remind me of the euro SVT Focus wheels if not identical.

Mixed feelings on the gauge face during the day.

Yeah man! I bought a brand new (at the time) 08 SES with Sync too and I love it. For a little four banger Found On Road Dead, it hauls butt without making two trips. The payments on mine suck however. I hope yours are better.

This car shares the same platform with the mazda3 - it's a solid car. I agree it's a billion times better looking than previous generations, and way better looking than it's bastard cousing the new mazda3 (lol smiley face car).

My mother in law has one and I recently used it for a weak long trip. The sync setup is pretty sweet once you finally know how to use it. They have good looking rims and a really sweet tuner looking instrument cluster but other than that they are beyond boring looks wise. Hers is a five speed and it was still boring to drive. I did not even have nigh expectations and was very disappointed in its performance. I would not buy one!

Me like. I've been looking into a newer focus.

On a side note...why hasn't Ford offered a SC or TC version to compete with the SS?

Love the wheels. Look like the wheels off those WRC cars.

Insert steeda short ram intake to make engine sound awesome. Purchase Ford Racing springs and dampers for a 400 dollar 1.5 inch drop. Call it a day.

Not bad, I have to admit, the new Focus is actually quite a sharp little car. Other than the tacky Power Wheels-looking gauges, I really like it!
