^ Maybe it will motivate my lazy asz to get in to tuning. I know squat about it as of now but would like to get somethings in line for my n20 overhaul.
Quick question that may have been answered a billion times. My 1st 02 sensor has been throwing a code. I have the replacement just haven't put it in yet. When that code (don't have it off the top of my head) is thrown does it put the car in a different loop? I ask cause I fear that if that gets thrown while I'm spraying I don't want to have any issues. If it does mess with fuel etc. can that code be deleted?

As far as my understanding goes is this
You have open loop and closed loop.
When you first start up your car you will be in open loop. Once the 02 sensor warms up, closed loop is initiated. This is when the PCM will adjust the AFR (air fuel ratio) with the given readings from the 02 sensor. Narrow band 02 is only correct when @ the magic 14.7:1....so the PCM makes an educated guess from the readings. Thus why everyone suggest to get a wideband for true AFR readings.

Kind of. The narrowband essentially just reads whether or not the car is above or below whatever the stoich value is. For real gas, not 10% e, its around 14.7:1. and then if the sensor reads that the mixture is too rich or too lean it creates a correction adder/subtracter from the VE table, this is called the Short Term Fuel Trim (STFT) if the car keeps the same STFT for 10 cycles it is then added to the Long Term Fuel Trim (LTFT). The total VE that is used for the next cycle to calculate fuel injector pulse is then the VE value from the current cell averaged with the cells around it (its actually interpolated but most people have no idea what that is and I dont want to explain it) Plus the LTFT plus the STFT. Then it has a value for what it believes the VE is If your tune is good then your LTFT should be 3 or lower with small fluctuations in your STFT. As a note if you tune in the summer I'd make sure to to have your LTFT be a bit on the rich (a negative number) so that when winter comes you are just about right or swing to the lean side. Or vice versa.

So when/if the o2 sensor were to come on while spraying it would still more than likely be fine since the AFR shouldn't be off by that drastic of a number, and the n20 kit is wet. Correct?

You don't what I'm saying is if that sensor happens to turn on while I'm in the middle of spraying.
