difference between 97-99 and 00-02 pcm?

is there is a difference between the 97-99 and 00-02 ecu's for the 2.4?
and can i use a 00 tune on a 97 2.4?

the ecu part #'s are different

97-99 used the same pcm and 00-02 used the same pcm

as far as i know the programing is set up different

in the 00-02 there was a seperate bcm that controls certain things where as the 97-99 pcm would control those things in it self someone else could prob add more to this

There are physical hardware differences between the two, and you can't flash a 00+ file to a 99-, or a 99- file to a 00+

ok cool thanks guys.

i need to find a 97-99 2.4 stock tune then.... does anyone have an .hpt file??
