i picked up this car from the same junk yard as the 98. paid $450, i was going to use it for parts to fix the 2000 after my accedent but it was in a lot better shape then my 98 (paint looked better and no dents). the only problem was the junk yard said the bottom end of the motor was junk. so i pulled it out, took off the oil pan. it was just the timing chain. since it was out i just pulled the good engine and tranny out of the 98 and put it in the 97 and now my wife has a better looking cavalier with power sunroof and power locks. now i could probley get $2500 for it.
