1998 Pontiac Sunfire GT

About This Vehicle:

I originally bought this car as a Point A to Point B beater, but had WAY too much fun driving it. The Landscaping job was unkind to the paint, as there are now several scratches along the passenger side. I have treated the rust spots with Fluid Film (sprayed it last Nov, and the rust hasn't expanded at all) and in the distant future plan to media blast it, repair all the rust, and spray it flat black.

Body Style: Coupe
Color: Dark Purple (Hawaiian Orchid?)
Engine: LD9
Transmission: Manual
Interior: Cloth, Grey
Purchase Date: April 2007
Purchased From: Used Car dealer (too lazy to look up)
Build Date: N/A yet

MODIFICATIONS

Engine:
• K&N Filter (already installed upon purchase)
• Actually it's just a K&N sticker and a regular paper filter which is quite disappointing
• some weird oil cap with an S on it
Suspension/Wheels/Brakes:
• The car rides about an inch HIGHER than stock
• 15x6 steelies
• 195/65R15 generic brand bald-ass snow tires
• steelies came with it and there were no alloys
• the BFG Traction T/A tires I had lying around are now matched with a new pair of same on 16" Pontiac Vibe steel rims with the centre hole ground out.
Interior:
• Does dog vomit count as a mod?
Exterior:
• Removed honeycomb grill covers from holes on either side of the plate bracket
Audio:
• Stock stereo with noticeable rattle when bass EQ sliders maxed
Miscellaneous:
• Removed weatherstrip across rear of hood
• installed foam across front of hood
• both to try to reduce hood float at speed.
Future:
• Many many plans (will update as items are completed): Body: -Fabricated evil eye hood (weld/glas/whatever) with Grand Prix GTP hood vents in corners -Shallow front lip of some description
• -Last gen Trans Am spoiler modded to fit (OR relocated stock spoiler with risers)
• -Chip-resistant film around full lower half of car (I like gravel roads)
• As much as I like gravel roads I MIGHT lower it a bit so that the following mods are more effective
• -Clean up underbody for reduced drag (which leads to the next..)
• -Rear diffuser
• Engine:
• -GM supercharger kit OR turbo
• -Nothing in depth yet due to lack of research on my part
• Running Gear:
• -Stiffer stock height springs/shocks (again with the gravel roads
• -Rear disc conversion
• -Upsized front brakes (though not too much - trying to maintain decent sidewall height)
• -17" rims with 215s for summer/street (gunmetal or gold in colour)
• -16" rims with 195s for winter/gravel (likely just steelies though eventually may switch to smaller versions of the 17s)
• Interior:
• -Better stereo (poor reception in lower FM range) and speakers (heavy bass gives me that wierd vibration-y noise and they're just the stock units)
• -Possible pillar guage pod
• -Full 6-pt cage in DISTANT future (if I ever have the time/money to try some rally)
