How do you pronounce "Ecotec"?
Officially, GM's correct pronunciation is "echo tech" or "eko tek".
However, GM recognizes the other pronunciation of "eco tech" or "eek o tek", as many people simply prefer to pronounce it as such.
Regardless of how you pronounce it, Ecotec refers to the most recent family of four-cylinder engines, found in Cavalier and Sunfire models from 2002 through 2005. There are other engines in the Ecotec family that are not found stock in J-cars.
