What is the idle RPMs of a 2.4 L? Mine is running at 1000 in park...seems high. What could cause that?

Mine sits round 7-800 rpm when warmed up, there could be many causes for your high idle.....maybe a vac leak, temp senser not working right,..etc
what about in drive? and is this after its warmed up?
mine idles around 1000 rpm until its warmed up..... then falls back to around 700
750rpms is normal idle,I wouldn't be worried about 1000,check your throttle cable,maybe clean your IAC valve

Mine is an automatic and it idle at 650 when up to operating temperature.
