Ok so I bought my cavy about 3 months ago and as of recently ( about 2 weeks ago) Ive been having problems trying to get it to start. What its doing is, I turn the key and it just sits there trying to turn over but never does and sometimes my guages will flicker and make little noises. I thought it might be the spark plugs because when I took the old ones out, the electrode was none existent on all four of them. So I went out and got a whole new set of spark plugs but low and behold its still giving me the same problem. Also I was told it wasnt my battery either because aparently the battery my car came with is like brand new, so we think it may be the fuel pump because sometimes when I go to start it, it will start fine but just instantly die out after starting, and yesterday it did that to me three times in a row with the 3rd time the car stayed running but when I went to reverse to back out it just died as soon as I stepped on the gas pedal... can anyone tell me what might be wrong with it? Im some what sure its the fuel pump but I dont want to waste 300 on a part that may not even fix the problem. also if it helps heres the details of my car its a 2003 cavalier, 2.2 ecotec motor with 147,000 miles on it. its also a M/T. any and all advice is greatly appreciated because I really want my car to start im getting very frustrated with it...
