the quick and easy: i blew up 2nd gear in my 5 speed 03 cav. does anyone have any suggestions on a quick and easy way to fix. and another question: i have access to a 99 5 speed trany from a 2200. there's no way that it will work, right? please help me!!!!!

What do you mean, you "blew up" the gear. It wont go into gear anymore, it does but pops out, hard to get into, wont go out of 2nd, car wont move while in 2nd?

when you put it into 2nd with the clutch down it stays as soon as you try and engage the clutch it pops out. there's no grinding noise when you put it in and it doesn't pop out violently. i brought it to a local mechanic and he is pretty sure it's the syncro's in that gear. i think it's the linkage because it just started doing this one morning. some body tell me what the hell is going on.

Did you do any kind of speed or hard shifting before it went?

i did take a 2400 mile road trip and about the shifting, i shift hard alot all the time, but my other gears feel fine and i spent 99% of the road trip in 5th.
