Changed fuel filter but fuel line rusted?
Monday, August 08, 2005 7:12 AM
Hey guys I just changed my fuel filter but the fuel line going to it was all rusted so my mechanic had to cut the line to get the fuel filter off. So I temporarily have a rubber hose there which is clamped and screwd on and its parked in my driveway.

But my question is what is that part number for the gas line? if anyone knows that would be helpful. Its is the gas line that goes to the fuel filter, not the part where it screws on the other part where the filter has a clamp thats the fuel line I need to replace.

im assuming its the line that runs to the front of the car , and if that is the case GM only sells all the lines , not just 1

and from what i remember it is a few hundred dollars for them all

Depends on what part u need, maybe try a junkyard. Or try connecting it witha a compression fitting to put a new part to ur old. Its like plumbing, maybe the least expensive to do. Should work.

same thing happened to me......take it to a repair shop....they bent a new line for me and flared the end with a new nut as well and installed it with a compression fitting. They cut the old line right back to "good" steel to get rid of the rotten portion. That was two years ago and still no problems. Only cost me $65.00
