is there a special oem windshield needed for a 2003 cavalier that wont squeek? i was calling around for a new windshield today and one of the places was saying something about a special lubricant on oem windshield moldings that make sure it doesnt sqeek and that all others squeek and rub against the frame. is this true? or can i go ahead and get the cheapest windshield?
It isnt the windshield, it is the gasket holding it in there. On my 2004 cav it did it from day 1, got very annoying. If you want you could have a new gasket installed with your current windshield.

I dunno about that, but mine caught a stone and cracked, replaced it for about $200, and everything is fine.
I suggest call a local auto glass shop, and have them do it, most will come to your house, takes like only a half hour. (shop around, some are way more than others)
well, i am shopping around. and one of the places told me that all the other companies windshields will squeek because of the molding and "only we have the right molding". so if it really is a problem i quess i will get it from them, but it is 200$ more than any other place in town.
how many of you have had your windshields replaced and it squeeks?

Sounds like

to me. I think that if you use enough of that winshield adheasive there won't be any squeaks. I got mine reaplced for $150 cash and it's fine.
