alright here is what is going on my check engine light came on about a week ago and i finally had the chance to see what the problem was and the code it was throwing was the IAT sensor. Now isn't the IAT sensor the idler air control for the throttle body? im not sure as to if thats correct but from my understand i thought that was what it was called because when the a/c is on i have like no power and at higher rpms the car starts to wine real back. just so everyone is on the same page i have an 05 cavalier 2.2 ectoec 5spd. also when im at a stop sitting at a light for a long period of a time 2-3 min my rpms will fluctuate from about 700-1600 and keep going back and forth as to if i was lightly pressing on and off the gas pedal. now i know its under warranty but i have a wai and didn't know if that would affect anything or cuz them to not warranty that sensor. any help or comments would be helpful thanks
It is the sensor in your Air intake. It is the Intake Air Temp Sensor. The problem is mor than likely the pigtail wires going to it. I had the same problem on mine took it to the dealer and got the mt o replace it. Other option go to Autozone order Wells part number 235 for 12.99 and replace it yourself with beefier wires. The GM ones break easy.
I don't need no stinking SIG. Wait this is one.
DOH!
alright cool do you think they would say anything about the intake that i have? would that not warranty it because of that? thanks
If you have an aftermarket intake check where you plugged the IAT into it to make sure it is fully seated. If it isn't, there's your problem.
