does anyone have a wiring diagram for the horn for a 90 sunbird? with colors if possible.
i have one green wire hanging out the front of the headlamp harness. looks like it should be the horn. but then i dont see 12V on it when i push the horn. does anyone have a diagram?
You need to specify in ur forum specs about ur car,like is it a 2.0 or 3.1engine.I am searching in my schematics for the horn wiring,yet to locate but will try my best to help u.I am thinking the wiring is prolly the same for the 2.0 an 3.1 eng.If someone beats me to it good,otherwise I will try to let u know asap.OK
it's a 90 sunbird, 2.0L, auto trans, sedan. although im sure the horn wiring would be the same across the board...
After searching my online chiltons manual and my haynes book with schematics there is nothing about the horn wiring.I was like wtf, and search again today to make sure I did not overlook it.I looked at my car its a 85 2.0 the horn wire is a dark green color,If the horn does not work obviously check ur fuse,then remove the horn and clean the metal really good since it grounds by the horn touching the metal,if it still does not work,I would think ur horn is shot or u have a short.Try putting a test light into the end of the plug with it disconn from the horn and have someone push the horn if it lites up the wiring is good ur horn is either bad or has a bad ground,just do what I said above.It really irrated me I could not see why the horn wiring was not in my schematics online or book,they suck for leaving that off.Hope that helps u man.By the way the horn is on the same fuse as ur cig lighter dome and stuff.
Almost for the most important thing the relay,do you hear a click when u push the horn ,u should hear a click from the relay ,it may be under the hood or under the dash I am not sure.Just check the other stuff first and see if its the wiring or just a bad horn,or ground issue.I will check my book for the relay location.
thanks guys. i did find the green wire underhood, but i think something was shorted out in the steering wheel somewhere cause it was doing weird @!#$ with the interior lights. i just ran a new wire from inside and its okay now. thx
