Would the valve cover on the 2200 need to be changed if you were to install th 1.6, i just need a quick answer, thanks
go with those...good imporvement.
anyone know the Crane Part number for those rockers....
Howell puts these kit together from parts available over the counter, but the part number for the rockers is 10758-16. You probably wont be able to put together the parts as cheaply as Howell sells them, unless you go in it with someone else(they come in sets of 16).
yes mad jack is correct. just buy them from howell. you might invest in the pushrods too, they are good pushrods.

or find someone to split a V8 kit with you.... so much cheaper

in which case you would still have to gather all the part numbers for everything. just order it from howell.

what's the difference.... studs different or something?
Yes, they have an 8mm base and 3/8" top. They are made by ARP.
So.... those rocker arms won't bolt up on the factory studs... due to.. wrong stud size... or too short? If wrong size... what is the factory stud size?
and that's an M8-1.25mm base, correct?
Thanks alot!!

from what i can tell, the studs seem to be longer and the top nuts included with the rocker kit are a different thread than stock.

Could you just use the old top nuts?

The Crane rockers and the Howell kit come with 3/8" polly-locks, which are much stronger and more secure.
thank you for all the answers guys.... extremely helpful...
one more question.... are the factory 98-02 2200 rockers stud screw in, or a press in job
I know the replacments are screw ins
Screw-in 8mmX1.25, thats why the ARP/Howell kit come with the studs.

no. for the 95-97 LN2 you need the comp cams kit from Summit Racing. The part number for the rockers is CCA-1414-x (the x is how many rockers you want). The cheapest option is to buy 12 (CCA-1414-12) because it is the full kit, includes rocker arms, pivot balls, and top nuts. The studs you will have to buy separately from GM. Search around on the site for the part number. It's like 47xxxx (something something something) lol can't remember it exactly.

Spotabee, it does fit, I did it to my 2.2L. Just follow the instructions above.
I did forget to mention I had to get the ARP 100-7221 Stud set(4 sets), 10mm base with 3/8" tops. The studs that come in the Howell kit fit the 2200's 8mm stud bosses.
i did it great mod the stock studs will not work because they are none adjustable this is why the new ones will be longer also on the guides just grind more clearance on them
excellent instructions from the site had all part#s everything search for it bout 200 $ mod
