I heard from someone that the ecotec motor can push out 180hp stock. If so how can it be done?

It can be done by computer tuning (i heard the same thing), but unfortunatly its not out yet.

the ecotec 2.4l almost does that. i think it's at 170hp. the ecotec 2.0l s/c puts out just over 200 i believe.

163 hp (something like that)
With very good tuning to the flywheel.

i suppose on a good SAFC tune, that is reachable.

Your saying that if you buy a SAFC your can tune the 2.2 eco and get 178 to the crank? Where is the proof and who has the dyno sheets. If this is true I will buy one and have it tuned myself.

it was GM that tuned the eco to 168 hp at the flywheel. I don't think they will tell us how they did it unfortunately...

15.891 @ 88 mph stock, still getting @!#$ty launches...

also look up the member hypsy. you'll see just what the eco can do (if not more) basically stock.

I highly doubt it. Maybe with excellent tuning, you could probably squeeze out 10 or a bit more horsepower out of a stock motor.

Umm...he's not stock anymore, he's turbo'd. If you meant look at him as far as the potential of the motor, than that's a good example...maybe you just re-worded it wrong.

The best I've seen a stock eco run was 15.3 which is by my friend, Encriptor, who has an 2005 Manual Cavalier Base Model.

i had 145WHP when i put the turbo on. i now have an estimated 304WHP (need to dyno to be sure but thats what the math tells us). all of this is on stock internals, stock clutch, stock axles. i dont know who at GM only got the car to 283HP but they were morons. IF im at 304WHP that comes out to almost 350HP at the crank...if not more. and im not done yet.

ok what they are saying is true. if you go online and read about the car gm made called the "import killer" with a 2.2 ecotec motor, wich was later converted to a 2.0 after adding a tone of carp to it. but they said that a well tuned 2.2 ecotec stock can make "about" 170 hp to the flywheel.

i had a custom made 3in long ram intake, custom catback, upper and lower mounts (no really gains but big effect), and trans mounts. nothing else

im sorry its not the import killer, it is called the ultimate import fighter. and this is that the sight states.

B]GM Racing began the tuning process on a Heinen-Freud water-brake dyno using the stock intake and exhaust manifolds and a modified stock downpipe plumbed without muffler directly into the dyno cell's exhaust removal system. It turns out a well-tuned stock 10:1 2.2-liter Ecotec in the above configuration actually develops 168 crankshaft hp (which is above the factory rating of 140-150 as installed in various vehicles in the United States and Europe).

The 284hp when the rods broke was on nitrous, which is a different monster, than boost.

Wow, I would be happy to gain 25 hp from an intake and exhaust. Or that dyno over-rated your car.....
unless 145whp is another estimation.

i wouldnt be suprised if the dyno was a LITTLE off...but i dont see where you get 25HP from that. please explain. im thinking it was more like 15-18HP and it did drop me about .5-.6 of a second.

dont know what your issue is but you seem to like to challenge everything i say. why dont you state your beef with me or just STFU.
