Ok heres the situation.
I have a 2000 2.2 auto cavy, im looking into a 2.4 swap. Will a 2.4 engine just bolt in to my car and onto the trans or what is involved. any info would be amazing. thanks
whats the point? a 2.4 is a decent motor, but why? to go from a 17 second P.O.S. to a 16 second P.O.S.? don't waste your time. if you have that much money laying around and that much time...use the time to do a little more OT at work and then buy a car worth making fast.
spend enough money on a 16 second car and you'll eventually realize its pointless and you haven't gotten very far with your wasted money...i did.

don't listen to Mr. Optimistic up there. Lots of people are making lots of power with both the 2.2 and 2.4.

I drive a 2.4 but the Eco is just a cheaper engine and you can make some pretty nasty gains with a little work on them. the 2.4 is pretty much discontinued in the Quad format as far as I know, so in that case if you do end up getting another 2.4 Engine, it'll probably have a lot of mileage on it. Et cetera. I know if I blow my 2.4 someday I'll see if I can't put a 2.2 in there.
