STAGE 1 CAM-ADJ CAM GEARS A REQUIREMENT?
Thursday, September 22, 2005 7:58 AM
Here are the specs for the COMP CAMS
Gross lift is .423 @ .050 for intake and .419 @ .050 for exhaust. Duration is 204 for intake and 200 for exhaust, both @ .050.
Does anyone know what this means exactly?
Does anyone know what STAGE this is?
Does anyone know what are expected gains?
I've heard that ADJ cam gears are necessary for cams in order to retard timing etc, otherwise you might have no gains at all
Can anyone verify this?

"Gross lift is .423 @ .050 for intake and .419 @ .050 for exhaust. Duration is 204 for intake and 200 for exhaust, both @ .050"
The lift on these specs are the "total valve lift" not the cam lobe. The duration is the length of time the valve starts to open til it closes.

Those cams are the Turbo Applications power from 2200-7000rpm.

gains are unknown as i dont even think comp cams have actually tested them yet.

ADJ. cam gears will help make the cams work to the most. See Karo @ carcustoms.net for a set.

We can get you the cams also. Let us know

.

Are the 264° intake and 268° exhaust duration at zero lift (as we measure it in europe) ?

what would happen if you put the turbo cams in before you have a turbo

You would still see a increase in Power, as they have a higher lift than stock. You will see even more improvement once you turbo
