I put the 2.3 intake manifold and throttle body on my 2000 2.4. Now it idles up and down constantly and whatever rpm its at when I push in the clutch it will stay there and if I turn on the a/c it idles way up to 2500-3000 rpm. I've checked and taken it apart looking for vacuum leaks many times but haven't had any luck in making it work. I've also tried different sensors but nothing changes. Can anybody tell me what else may be the problem?
p.s. Could this be caused by the wrong throttle cable bracket? And where can I get the one I need?
you must have a vacuum leak. Check your connections and try to see if you hear a whistle while the engine is running.
I can't hear a vacuum leak and I can't find it either.....thats what I've been looking for
have you checked your TPS? tried resetting the TPS?
TRD Cav Fire posting here.
Well I hate to ask this, but have you unpluged your battery and let it set for a about an hour or so yet? Cause this could let the computer relearn the setings. Also might want to check out what sensors you are using for the TPS? You need the 2.4 one.
If you need pic's of anything eles with this to make it easier for you go

Wrong, if he is using the 2.3L TB then he needs to use the 2.3L TPS.
If you blip the throttle does the idle come down lower then it was before. (i have a problem ever so often that the car will idle alittle higher then it should and blipping the throttle will make it come down)
Also if you didnt know about this guide then check it out.

Hmm... Then why are you havin' problems! LoL
If you go with the 2.3 t/b, get a 93+ one, either with or with out the cruise option. Remove all the sensors, and be careful with the bolts, since they are weak, and might break. You can use your 2.4 Idle Air Control sensor, just pull off the plunger on the 2.3 one, and swap it with the 2.4 one. For your Throttle Position Sensor, you need to use your 2.4 one, check your position of it on the 2.4, and place it on your 2.3 t/b. You will need to cut one of the mounting ears off, and drill a new hole in the t/b for the other one. Tap the hole, and mount the sensor.
If you go with the 2.4 t/b, you don't need to mess with any sensors, use your stock ones. You will need to drill out the 2 holes that match up with the holes in the intake. Just select a drill bit that is slightly larger then the bolts. To mount the throttle cable bracket, I would first get one off a '95 2.3(part # 22590179. This part is now discontinued by GM), just because it was made to fit in the J-body with this intake manifold. The upper bolt hole in the t/b will need to be taped, to bolt the upper part of the bracket in place.
Either way you will need a 2.3 intake gasket kit from any parts store, in the kit you should get a t/b gasket. Use a SMALL amount of silicone sealer, and mount the t/b gasket and t/b to the intake.
Try this and see if you have problems.

I am having problems b/c the throttle cable is at a really sharp angle and hangs up sometimes since i am using the 2.4L Throttle cable braket. Thus it makes the throttle stick alittle sometimes.

Im using the 2.3L TB and using the 2.3L sensors.
no problems
hahahaha this sounds just like me a couple days ago eh trey?? lol....just unplug the battery for about an hour and it should fix itself.....if your using the 2.3 sensors that is......i would assume your using the 2.4 sensors bc thats EXACTLY what my car did when i had the wrong sensors hooked up lol....just put the 2.3 sensors on and it should idle around 1800 rpm, then reset all the electrical sh!t by unpluggin the battery for about an hour and you should be good to go!!! hope that helps.....
