where can i get a forged crank for a 2.4L z24?

is there any aftermarket support for forged crankshafts? also, does anyone know if the company "Eagle" makes forged pistons and rods for the 2.4L engines?

im planning a full rebuild of an engine, so i need strong internals. any sites other then the ones in the readme that you guys know of would be very helpful.

thanks.

it'd be cheapest to send your crank to JBP. They do lightening / knife-edging / balancing and all that. http://www.jbodyperformance.com

There are no aftermarket cranks for the LD9, which is too bad as the most common casue of death is spun bearings which often kill the crank. Your best bet is to look into some options like cryo treating, micropolishing, and nitriding to make it more durable, and less prone to spun bearings, and look into a better oiling system to prevent the spun bearings problem (like a 2.3 oil pump/balance shaft removal swap).

You can prevent spun bearings by making sure the oil delivery is there. That's the major flaw of the LD9. Oil system and pistons.

I believe eagle makes a crank for our cars.

nope, the only forged lightened crank Eagle offers is for the Ecotec.

Technically he's right, since the EcoTec does come in 'our cars' (rather, 3rd gen J's)...... just the wrong engine.

I had 'HEARD' Mantapart offered a forged crank for the 2.4.......... but that could have been a truck load of ..........

In my opinion, our stock crank is fine. It has held up to 450hp+ just fine. Things like Cryotreating, micro-polishing, and modifying the oil feed holes goes along way.

Eagle offers Rods....... check CarCustoms, Summit, JBP.........

Wiseco offers Pistons....... also check CarCustoms and JBP......

other pistons out there as well.

yea that's true. i just figured since Chris Fontana has the LD9 and the author of this thread has an LD9, Chris was referring to "our cars" as "the LD9 club" lol. I think Mantapart did have a crank for a while, but I wouldn't buy anything from them anyways.
