engine swap

i want to do an engine swap in a 97 Chevy cavalier 2.2L i know i should use the search but i can't b/c i don't have a home computer anymore b/c of hurricane Katrina i have a manual tranny and i was wonder if i could use 2200 motor with it. and all so if i get 2.4L with the tranny what all would i need? any help is cool. thanks

Hey does any one know if i can swap a 2.2 ecotec into a 97 z24,and what kind of performance gains or losses will i get.I have a 2.4 now,want to go to ecotec and five speed trans...can some one help

I believe the bell housing is different between the 2.2 OHV and the 2200s but quote me on that.

If you were to pick up an 2.4 w/transmission, you would need the PCM, fuel system, ignition system and basically all the hoses and wires that would be found in the engine bay.

Pretty much the same answer...

There really isn't a big difference in the 2.4 and ECOTEC...honeslty I would keep the 2.4 unless you have high mileage and want to swap in another motor, than yes, an ECOTEC would be a good choice.

get a HO..gain almost 30 hp and itll bolt to your existing tranny...

so the ecotec will go right in w/a harness change and will my trans bolt up?
