I have been doing some research through the old forums.
I want to install the 086 cylinder head on my 96 2.4L,
but I need to know what is the maximum price you guys
would pay for this head? I don't want to get over priced
once I buy it.

i bought mine at 500$CAN brand new with stainless steel valves...
i know there is some on ebay for like 200-250$ those are rebuilt tho
200-250 is not that bad for a rebuilt one!

^^ pretty good for a rebuilt one...i got a used one for 120us

you have to do a little bit of modification to the block to get it to fit. but I hear you can do that with just a dremel tool and a 2.4 head gasket I believe.


Also, if you keep your ld9's stock pistons, I'm told that it runs insanely high compression 11.5/1 if I'm not mistaken. Maybe 11/1....

That's correct. The 086 head with the HO cams on the LD9 block, with modifications to the block for fitment ends up with 11.4 : 1 compression. You CANNOT run any lower than 91 octane.

modification needs to be done to the head! you need to do the water hole on it. easy with a dremel and a gasket.
