If you're looking for an inexpensive name brand intake, we sell the weapon-r ones here: Weapon-R Intake

The picture is from a 98, but I have pictures of it on my 97 if you're interested.

I made my own, very simply. Get a 2 1/2" 90deg aluminum ebow, a 45 deg aluminum elbow, a 2 1/2'" connector(w/ 2 clamps), a 2 1/2" to 3" transition hose and a K&N filter with a 2 1/2" connector.

Start by removing the stock air box and tubing. Pull the intake air temp sensor (IAT) out of the rubber grommet in the plastic air tube and save the IAT

Just fit it together as seen here:

Sorry for the poor quality pic, POS camera!

Note: this one was originally done with 3" tubing. It was too big and cost me low end torque and idle smoothness. Make yours with the 2 1/2" tubing.

Depending on the length of the tubes depends on whether or not you will need to do some trimming of the tubing. You can use an exhaust pipe cutter for a square cut.

You will need a hole saw and grommet to fit your IAT into the tubing. Try to keep the IAT in approximately the same place. Get the grommet from you local autoparts store.

You will probably want a valve cover breather (mine is a Spector from AutoZone) to fit the nipple on the VC. The breather just sits behind the tubing as seen in the pic.
