They're from a 2.3 engine. Lo, Ho or W41.

2.3 Ho
Ok so the set is from a 90-94 2.3 Ho (I only had the numbers from the exhaust). Will these do any good for my 2001 Z24 or should i stick to the factory ones already in the car? Will they fit, I know the power steering runs off the cam, does this cam have that?
I do not believe you can use those.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
1995 Cam Specs
200 degrees @ .050" with .360" lift for the intake
LD2 also known as LO (1990+) Cam Specs
200 degrees @ .050" with .375" lift for the exhaust
I belive those are the ones that you need.
the 1995 because it was one of the few years with the Cam position sensor on the camshaft and it was made with the hex to drive the power steering pump. most other years were driven by pulley
don't get a pre 90 Lo exhaust because they are
212 degrees @ .050" with .345" lift for the exhaust
as you can see, the amount of lift changes dramatically and I have been led to believe that this actually reduces the power you make.
Your 2.4 stock cams are as follows
198 degrees @ .050" with .354" lift for the intake
187 degrees @ .050" with .346" lift for the exhaust Compared to..... the hybrid cams...
200 degrees @ .050" with .360" lift for the intake
200 degrees @ .050" with .375" lift for the exhaust
You can see it's a little bit of difference, nothing too wild, but an improvement.
avoid the HO cams they throw codes unless modified for your car. and they won't fit in the stock ld9 camshaft towers.
Anything I missed?
Ì never said they were Ho for sure. You need to mesured them. They had the same casting for the Lo, Ho and W41 cams.
Gilles
2.3 Ho
just take a caliper to them. the lobe height minus the width of the lobe gives lift in mm's I believe.
it should be less than .410 because I think that throws a code, the specs are already posted.

What effect will swapping in the 35mm lifters from a 2.3 have on the lift and duration when used in a 2.4?
2000 Z24 5spd header & catback for now.
not effect using the lifter plus they may not fit the 2.4
Casting number on 2.4 is the same as some of the 2.3 Engines. So becareful getting cams. You may want to get a specific car Cam etc.. There are some places that have passed off later models for earliers ones.
