What hp and tq does a stock 2003 chevy cavalier put to the wheels? (roughly)
Yeah anywhere from 120-130 hp and tq to the wheels.

wow, do they really put out that much stock to the wheels? hmm, i'm not familiar w/ the eco but i keep hearing good things about it. i'm liking it more and more each day
People say that what doesn't kill you in this life
will make you stronger. I'm not sure if that is true
or not, but i do know one thing-You have to learn from
it and it has to make you better.......it has to.......
Thats for the 5speed though, if you have an Auto then i'm sure its much lower.
Why is that^^^ like I know with a 5spd you can get more psi safer with a turbo application and obvisously its fast in a race, but actual power really? why is that
and yea i asked this quesion a while back in the newbies forum of who has dynoed their stock eco's and the lowest I got was 126whp and the highest was 132whp and yes they had the papers to prove it,,,,,but this was atleast a year ago....not sure on torque numbers though

I have one true love in my life...And my girlfriend sits next to me in it
I dynoed 121 whp stock. 5 spd
More power is lost through the auto trans.
so i have a b@m shift plus when i get my car dynoed can i leave this on level 1 or turn it completly off
sorry to thread jack just want to know
i heard 5speed has more power but less torque, becuase i wanted to do a tranny swap and the guy told me i'd lose a lil torque and gain a lil power when switchin to stick

Auto's lose power because of drivetrain loss.
But those are actually some pretty good numbers. Higher than I thought.
manual trans will ALWAYS have higher whp then auto trans. For a couple reasons... manual trans the flywheel is conected to the crank, and the clutch is splined to the trans, there for its 1 to 1 dirrect connected.... with auto trans the engine connects to the torgue convertor which connects to the trans... it work by spinning the engine spins the insideds and transfers fluid which turn the trans... once your inside the trans there is a ton of parts, clutch packs and gear sets ect.. in a manual its just a couple shafts with gears, and there isn't a trans fluid pump built into it.... I'm to trying to be specific without being specific enough to lose everyone hahaha. More or less it takes more work to make a auto trans work then it does to make a manual trans work. You don't actually MAKE more power with the manual trans, you just lose less power in the trans and more of the power your making actually goes towards making the car move.
as for the 5-speed ecos they have been known to dyno as high as the mid 130whp and run 1/4 mile times as low as low 15's

just to correct you a bit autos actually are despituably better with turbos in ceratian applications in terms of holding power. now upgradeing cluth and fly wheel is another storie.

OK, so lets say we took this say stock ecotec 5spd and added these mods:
(which some are already complete and others are future plans)
K&N Typhoon Intake kit
RKSport Cat-Back exhaust
RKSport Lightened underdrive pulley
RKsport Lower Engine mount
RKsport Upper Engine Mount
In a ball park what are we talking, like 10hp and 10tq? Roughly?
Anyone have a car thats close to those N/A mods and what power have u seen?
With my 2004 ECOTEC - with the following mods...62mm tb, rsm intake, pacesetter cat back(I know , I know....yes it sucks) I hit the dyno at 131.2 HP at the wheels. He pushed it to 5350 RPM, not the full red-line on the tach. I have the proof in my hand. Yes its a Automatic.

<---<<<Check Out The Ride!
stock shoudl be 128 hp and 140ish tq...
with my mods-warm air intake 2.25 inch pipe from cat back to fart can (thats getting changed sooon) and pace setter header i put down 133.5 hp and 150.4 tq and i got proof in my hands too
Aem intake, custom 2 1/4 exhaust w/magnaflow muffler
141hp 140tq
Damn, hearing all these numbers makes me re-think the power I might be puttin down. I have:
- AEM CAI
- Magnaflow Cat-Back
- Pacesetter Header
- High-Flow Cat
- Upper Motor Mount
- Lower Motor Mount
- RSM 62mm T/B
I thought I would be barely pushing 130whp since of the Auto tranny but maybe i'm mistaken.
^ No, you should be right around 130 to the wheels.

^What are you dropped on? I am guessing they are coilovers or the pic is photoshopped. Either way, it looks great.
