Pacesetter header and exhaust

Im getting my tax money back soon, and I'm pretty sure I'll be getting the header. But what about the exhaust. I've heard + and -'s about their system. What is everybody elses opinion on their cat back exhaust?

the biggest thing people say is the rusting

the tips have changed on the cat back and are full stainless , the tubing is aluminized as is the muffler

the other is some either like or hate the sound , and ive heard it on 2 different cars and both were completely different

so at worste you add a 40.00 resonator to it

plus its mandrel bent , and most local shops wont be mandrel bent , and they use aluminized tubing as well

as long as you wash the road salt off it , it should last along time

^^ which bends are the bends that the cavalier need? Is is mandrel or compression. I was told not too long ago, but I forgot. I do remember that one of the bends, ends up being an oval where they bend it, there for ... it not being consistant on the ID (inner diameter)

mandrel is the better of the 2 bends

dubduce18s -

I have an armor-coated Pace Setter header that was used for a few months this summer (otherwise brand new) and the armor-coated downpipe that came with it (never installed.)

If you wanna save a few bucks, drop me a line. I have no use for them--they're just taking up space in the shop.

Please for the love of god don't get the Pacesetter cat-back. Time after time after time I tell people about my experiences with it and my opinions of it, and it really was no more than a n00b impulse-buy. I hate that system with a passion. Everything on it that could suck, has sucked. Everything on it that could give me trouble, has given me trouble. There's nothing quality about it at all... I've had to modify it so much it's not even the same system anymore, and it's just now sounding and performing adequately. Everytime I think about it I hate myself for ever buying it. Either go fully custom from a shop that does mandrel / compression bends, or if you absolutely want a pre-fabbed cat-back, anything's better than Pacesetter... so take your pick. Once I get a new car here pretty soon, I'm going custom all the way.

I don't have the Pacesetter header, but almost everyone who has it loves it. Seems you can't go wrong with that.

seeing as I will probably be the poor bastard installing it heres my suggestion;

get in touch with either gmanz or agent omega, personnally i would go with agent omega since i definitely recognize the name.

get yourself your cat of choice and a resonator

get whatever muffler you want

when you got that @!#$ together let me know and we can throw my car up on some stands and take off my rear section and if you have to have a mandrel bent system lay out what you need and order it from jeg's, wait and build it piece by piece or take it into a shop and say hey I want one of these in 2 1/4" tubing

hell if I end up picking up the blower I'll sell you mine shortly there after
