So I am building a 2.4 block for a really nice turbo setup. I have recieved my
1)wiseco piston kit
2)eagle rods
3)cometic NA Head gasket (to raise compression to hopefully 9.2:1ish)
4)2.3 oil pump/pickup/windage tray
5)clevite 77 main and rod bearings
6)turbo, etc, etc
so I pretty much have everything I need including Fuel management and stuff, so my question is this.
what are all the atvantages of using the 2.3 oil pump???? this is what I have come up with
1)removing of balance shafts (good for 8-12hp)
2)removal of smaller faster rotating 2.4 oil pump
3)better high RPM oil pressure (lower pump speed)
4)pump pickup is lower to prevent starvation
ok, so is the 2.3 pump more reliable? like will it last longer? or should I put a new one in every XX miles or what have you guys found?
If I screwed up anything please correct me, should be boosting and at a dyno in about 4 weeks (when I get home from work)
I modified my oil pan and drilled/welded my block, all I
am waiting on is ARP mainstuds from jtuners.com and the bottom end goes together
Another question but this includes the cams, will the 0.411" cams fit in the 2000 2.4 housings? I would hate to start it up and bend all the valves. I put the cam into the housing and it has good clearance all the way around, and had no fitment issues.

Oohhhhh, looks very nice. I dun know anything about 2.4's otherwise i'd chime in, but looks like you got a lot of bases covered. What are you using for fuel management? i see what looks like a 2025 cartech FMU there, and some larger injectors.. anything else?
yah, I will be using the GM s/c reflash, so 2 bar map, 310cc (for now) and the begi to raise fuel pressure under boost, once HPTuners comes out I will buy that get 550cc injectors and selling the begi. I should be able to get a decent tune with my wideband, until I can get to a dyno.

did you check the cams with the cover on? True Ho cams are not suppose to fit in the 2.4 housing. Plus, they use a 35mm lifter compare to the 33mm lifters for the 2.4. And it's .410" of lift, not .411"

yah I put the housing together and then installed the lifters, and turned the whole assemble, it turned very smoothly and nothing was rubbing, I am just trying to make sure that I did not get the .410"

cams, thanks
