yeah i'm a noob. now that that's out of the way, on to more important things.

i've been doing some research on a 2.2L ecotec engine swap for a few months now and i know what i need, engine and engine mounts, tranny (5 speed), all the electrical and control modules. i have an '01 cavalier. what problems or set backs should i expect? i'll keep this thread updated as thing happen.

i'm also planning on rebuilding the engine before i swap it in. i'll have to do some research on that before i ask questions on that subject.

anyway Hi to all and thanks for the help.

Sam.

For your car it is a really easy swap. Question why do you plan to rebuild the motor before the swap?

the motor is coming from a scrap yard so i don't know what condition(it's going to be a running engine) it will be in or how it was driven for that matter. so basically just for my own peace of mind.

for those of you done the swap from a 2.2L OHV to the 2.2L ecotec, is there a big differance in fuel consumption between the two engines? i have to do the swap anyway because my engine sound and runs more and more like crap every day.
