you need to rehang it and tuck it under the car, rather than having it stick out like you have it now.

Horrible doesn't quite describe how horrible it looks. Sorry man, I'd definitely rethink that.

thank you for the feedback dude. Do you mean in general, or just the way its hanging like Viper said??
Do you have any recommendations on what type of look I should go for. I want a nice sound, but not any type of 4" fart can.
any outlook would be great.
If someone would rear end you they'd hit the muffler 15 seconds before they hit your bumper. JK! But yeah it needs to be put under the car more.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
I tried to tuck it in as far under the bumper of the car, but the way the tips extended out of the muffler, they kept getting caught on the under lip of the bumper. I can try it again and see if I could get it refit, but I honestly can't see that. I'll look again though.
YOu did it? If you did you may nee to get a shop to do it for you. That thing is sticking out way to far some on could trip on it

what we're talking about is depth wise fitment, not necessarily height wise (although that could be changed just a little bit).
what i say is cut the muffler off the pipe, and cut about 3-6 inches off the pipe, and reattach the muffler. the tip would look good if the most outer edge of the tip lines up, or is just a little inside, of the bumper edge. also, move the muffler just a little bit higher if you can, just as long as the tips aren't touching the bumper, and that there is a small gap of air there.

Sounds like it would work, but the shape of the muffler compared to the shape of the bumper underneath, might be a little difficult..
I'll give it a try, definately
The the tips were straight out it would have been a better fit.

Ouch!!
Wow, I didnt think it was that bad. gues I was wrong and have some work to do...
LOL
get a new muffler

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
Not the right muffler. Maybe if it was tucked up a bit higher and back further under the bumper. At the least, get the outlets to follow the bumper so they don't stand out so much. But that style of tip is better if it's more like the DTM's. Those look okay on our cars if done right.
yeah, i will definately be doing something this weekend to fix this. Thanks for everybodys input so far..
GAY
Working on obtainting an M-Class license... ?? Hint: 2 wheels.
heh. These probably weren't the responses you were expecting, eh?
I agree with pretty much everyone here. It looks terrible... but shouldn't be hard to fix.
I'd cut the tip off the muffler and move the muffler under the car to where the stock one sits.
Then get a pipe around 6" long or so to go from the muffler to your tip.
Honestly, I'd look into getting another tip as well though. The way that one angles up just won't fit nicely under the bumper. You need one that sticks straight out. You need a bigger cutout to fit a tip like that and you just don't have one.
Yeah I wasnt really expecting ALL negative responses, but meh, its all good. Thanks for the advice on how to make it 'somewhat' presentable. I honestly didnt think it looked bad at all, but I guess Im just blind.
I've actually been contemplating this type of look. All I need is a rear lip to make the bumper a little better looking.

***sorry to hijack your pic dude***
And which type of Exhaust does this guy have? Stock Z24?
It's not that it's horrible. And I wouldn't call it gay unless it was dresed in pink cashmere and talked with a lisp. But if you tuck it up further under the car it'll look ten times better. It's all about execution, no matter what the muffler looks like on its own. Part of the problem is the muffler is just sitting too far down. You can see the entore rear face of the main body, which throws off the whole look. Tips like those look better if the body of the muffler is out of sight. WHat I would do is tuck it farther up under the car, with only a minimal gap between the tips and the bumper, and that should do the trick. If not tey blacking out the muffler body with some high-temp paint.
Yeah as said above, it wouldn't look nearly as bad if it were tucked away more...not sticking out so far...just do a lil reworking on it and it might look pretty good.
wicked, thanks guys!!!
If I tuck the muffler right against the bumper, would it 'melt' the bumper at all. How much gap would I have to leave??
My HKS Dragger rests right on the bottom of the bumper and I haven't noticed any scorching or melting as of yet but yours has more surface area that can actually come in contact with the bumper. For the most part it won't get hot enough to melt the bumper itself, but it can burn the paint. Leave about a 1/4" gap and you'll be good to go.
