Shift Lights

Well a local company is looking to improve the shift-lights they make and market them to more vehicles. I asked about the j's and he said if there is interest i could be the test car to mass produce them. If there is any interest post any questions or comments and I will let him know. These are very cool items and sold well for the SRT-4s!

Its actually extremely accurate. RPM is completely linear (and is actually frequency based). So, if your cars RPM signal is 1000hz at 2000RPM then the frequency will be 4000hz at 8000 RPM. The module reads the frequency of your setpoint and calculates the actual shift point. The other nice thing is is that most motors will idle really well at 1/2 the desired setpoint. For instance, my shift point in my G35 is 7000RPM. My motor sits very well (under load) at 3500 rpm. It also is fairly easy to get it to rest at 3500 RPM at idle.

The two key features of our shift light are:

1. Its completely stealth (people won't know you have it until it lights up
2. There are no buttons/switches/jumpers on it at all. The programming interface is designed to be used with a traction control switch. A programming push button can be supplied if no such button exists.

The module is completely programmable on the fly, without having to turn any knobs, set any dipswitches, or install any pills. You also don't have to know how many pulses per revolution you are working with, and the module is capable of working with crank angle signals, cam angle signals, most injector signals, and most ignition signals. It will basically accept any signal that pulses a constant X amount of times per revolution. By using an 8mghz processor on board the module is capable of working with up to aproximately 50,000hz, although it will actually stop flashing around 31,000hz (it just stays on steady). Most cars shift point will be around 8,000 - 10,000 hz, but it definately will vary from car to car. I have never worked with a car that went above 30Khz.

Our current MSRP is $79.99, but we haven't released them directly to the public yet. Currently we are only selling them in group buys and through our resellers.
